I wonder if this is related to any terrorist groups tied to the middle east.

What? It's definitely suicide. The guy purposely took his own life. It's homicidal suicide.

I know, I know I can be nit-picky at times but you definitely can't say it's not suicide.

If some gunman took to the streets and murdered 150 people and then took his own life, we wouldn't call that a suicide.

It's straight up mass-murder.

He took his own life purposely. That's the literal definition of suicide. Another example of homicidal suicide.

Yeah, technically you're correct, but you won't hear that term much with the media. See...Sandy Hook.

I still expect you to go back and forth into page 5. :)

I'd say the reason for that is the media doesn't want to hone in on the suicide part because that puts the focus on the person behind the murder instead of on the victims.

Two distinct concepts though. Intentionally taking another's life is homicide and intentionally taking one's life is suicide. Not mutually exclusive in the least

Doesn't appear so at the moment.

"A French prosecutor said the co-pilot of the Germanwings airliner who intentionally crashed the jet into the Alps Tuesday was a German national who was not on any terrorist watch list."

It's a murder-suicide.

I guess it technically would be "terrorism", but no evidence of Islamic extremist terrorism.

What's your point? lol he can say whatever he wants. That doesn't change the fact that, by definition, a homicide and a suicide took place.

I think we get that. Point is most people consider it more murder than suicide.

I got ya. It's obviously a technical suicide. Not arguing there lol

I just refuse to call it that. Guy murdered 150 people it's not a suicide in my mind.
