It is way easier for people to just say "Commie!" rather than argue policies on the merits e.g.

"Medicare for All would be unjust because it would mean I don't have the choice of choosing a private for-profit health insurance provider in a relatively free market for health insurance in my state in accord with the 10th Amendment of the Constitution even if that means we would still have a robust market economy with regard to most other goods and services."
