Not to skirt the question but it's a collaboration of sorts.pkebker wrote: Just curious, How much do you think Holmgren is doing, and how much do you think it is Heckert. I've been under the impression that Holmgren is letting Heckert make the trade calls...
Heckert & Mangini work together evaluating players and if there's a division Holmgren breaks the tie. I'm sure that Holmgren had quite a bit of a say in the acquisition of Wallace where I'm sure Mangini had quite a bit of input in the acquisition of "blue collar, Mangini-like" players in Fujita & Pashos.
For as much as a many thought this marriage would be like oil & water (myself included), Heckert, Mangini & Holmgren seem to be doing very well together.

This will really be put to the test with the draft. If they can collaborate like it seems they are right now, this draft has the potential to truly right the ship once and for all.BR1986FB wrote:Not to skirt the question but it's a collaboration of sorts.pkebker wrote: Just curious, How much do you think Holmgren is doing, and how much do you think it is Heckert. I'm not sure where/how Stanton would fit into the Browns' plans. I'm going to chalk it up as internet rumors for now.

I would hope no trade with Carolina (involving Quinn) would happen until they get the QB situation finalized in some manner.
Having only Wallace and Ratliff would not make me confident going into the season.

Wallace is better than many are assuming. He is an improvement, no doubt, then what we have. I'm not saying he is the answer, but already, the QB position has been greatly improved. A trade with Quinn for any decent player would be a good trade...

If they have shored up the OL and the defensive backfield a bit more then, yes, I'd feel okay.buckeyes_woowee wrote:Having Quinn, Wallace and Ratliff would make you confident?Writerbuckeye wrote: I would hope no trade with Carolina (involving Quinn) would happen until they get the QB situation finalized in some manner.

Wallace and/or Quinn could "manage" a game that was more about short passing and running (West Coast).
In fact, if he isn't traded (I'm neutral on this issue), I'd be very curious to see if Quinn could run a version of the West Coast offense since his strength is having decent touch on the ball and checking down.

I don't think he releases the ball quick enough.
He's been indecisive but that could change with experience.

Im ok with Delhomme. Tommy John's surgery take a bit to recover from and I think last year's performance (or lack thereof) was a result of coming back too soon. I think he'll be a good pick up for somebody and will be good for a couple more years.

^^Is he scheduled to visit with any teams you know of? Or nothing really being talked about? I thought he visited with the team yesterday but hadn't really heard how things went and what can be expected.

I think they should hire Aaron Goldhammer as a scout.

Pretty impressive numbers...How good are his hands I wonder and if he can really be a true TE in the NFL? I saw that article moments before you posted in BR

After his visit today at Brownd headquarters. Jake Delhomme was on his way to take a physical for the Browns. I think that situation is almost a done deal. Raiders RB Justin Fargus was also in Cleveland today.
