That is why? Sure it is. It doesn't have anything to do with the fact that the Browns suck does it? Face it, if the Browns had won several super bowls and were like 12-4 or 13-3 going into the playoffs this year, half of the "Ohio Steelers" would be Browns fans.
False. Hell, I've been to Pittsburgh more than I have ever been to the shithole that is Cleveland.

"I'm not wrong, I never stated or hinted that one must root for their home team. In fact I feel the opposite you can root for whoever you want for whatever reason or for no reason at all."

Uh, the 2nd part wasn't to you, it was to the guy from the 2nd quote. I know you didn't say people had to be homers.

Every state has a message board like the huddle(s) and I'm sure they have asshole homers who post either to rile people up or who honestly mean it but I only have this one. And since you cannot infer someone's meaning when its electronic I assume they honestly mean it. Thus I cannot root for anything which would make them happy. I hope OSU, cleveland, cincy, cavs, indians, reds, etc etc etc lose every single game every year. I hope the mascot falls down the stairs and breaks his legs. I wouldn't piss on Jim Tressle if he was on fire. And why? Because of assholes on a message board who I cannot afford to have one moment of sports happiness.

Rationally I know that most of the people on his board and the old board are not in this category so a small part of me sympathizes for them when the team you love perennially lets you down, I know the feeling quite well from my CFB fav.

"That is why? Sure it is. It doesn't have anything to do with the fact that the Browns suck does it? Face it, if the Browns had won several super bowls and were like 12-4 or 13-3 going into the playoffs this year, half of the "Ohio Steelers" would be Browns fans."

Funny thing is Cincy is having the kind of year and frankly the kind of decade long success browns fans could only dream about....and yet I can still say fuck cincy, I hope they go down in flames instead of running out to buy a jersey or a god help me, snuggie with their emblem. So no, you're wrong, much like you're wrong to think either in jest or being serious that people need to feel some kind of connection and love for their state. This isn't 1850.
This has to be the dumbest post that has ever been posted on any board anywhere at any time in any era in any lifetime. Who the hell is Jim Tressle? If you meant Jim TressEL, then whatever.

Been a Pittsburgh fan since I was 5 in the late 60's. So go ahead and assume that I'm a bandwagon jumper BBmind. Didn't know that 5 year olds could be a bandwagoner, but whatever, keep enjoying the Browns.
That is just what a kid does, finds the team that has had the most success, or won the most recent SB, and jumps. I don't know why you decided to become a Steeler fan at 5, maybe your dad was a "jumper" also.

Yeah, and we all know what a beautiful city Pittsburgh is.
I take it you haven't been there in the past 15 or so years have you? Hell, Pittsburgh has a higher GDP than Cleveland.

Nice try at a bad comeback though, I still award you no points.

I've been a Steelers fan since I was a kid.

Excellent post! When people mention Pittsburgh they still think of the dirty town it was when the steel mills were rolling, not the case any more. It's clean, beautiful and has a pretty good economy.

Shit, the Browns could've won several Super Bowls and I'd still be a Steelers fan. I guess if I was a bandwagon fan.....I'd be rooting for God's gift LeBron and the Cavs instead of my suck ass New York Knicks. This is some ole bbmind bullshit....

Do you get to Pittsburgh often?

Take a trip over to Oakland and you'll see a real shit hole. Shadyside, Hill District, Garfield, and East Liberty are nothing to be proud of either. Pretty much the whole of the East End and South Side are just garbage.

Plus its full of dirty yinzers so its automatically a shit hole.

Yep, every city is clean. Have you been to most of Cleveland? Most of Cincinatti? All of Morgantown? Most of Columbus?

I was responding to the poster who claimed it is a nice clean city. For the most part it is not.

Cleveland and Cinci suck also. I will agree with that.

And I was telling you every city in that size range is the same.

Come to Columbus, you can go to the near east side, south side, hilltop, bottoms, northland. All worse than what you will see in Pittsburgh.

I've been to Columbus plenty of times to know that is the truth. I don't know if I can compare the two, but like I said, I was only dispelling the myth that Pittsburgh is generally a nice clean city.

It's as nice and clean as any other midwest city of that size. Cleaner than most mid-atlantic/northeast cities that size.

Not sure what you are trying to prove.

So who are the people that live in South Carolina,Wyoming,North and South Dakota,Oklahoma,Nevada, etc supposed to cheer for?
Since Ohio and Pennsylvania has 2 teams in each state, where must 1 live to cheer for each team in the state?

I'm confused I didn't know there was a rule that 1 had to cheer for hometown teams.

I'm proving that in general, Pittsburgh is a dirty shithole where only welfare recipients and pedophiles live.

Just my opinion based on experience.

I work in Pittsburgh and live close by. You have absolutely NO CLUE about what you're saying. Every city has it's slum but Pittsburgh uderwent a rennaisance(sp?) like no other city has. The town totally reinvented itself. You're just jealous, like someone said, you're in Morgantown and have the balls to criticize Pittsburgh, that's hysterical!

If we want to be fair it's stupid to get excited when any team that you or a child/friend is not on to wins a trophy.

Yes, Morgantown has won numerous awards as well as being named the best small city in the country. I love Morgantown. Great city to live.

I think you may need to lighten up a bit. Clearly saying Pittsburgh is a city where only welfare recipients and pedophile live is only partly true.
