Or in reality, a 1-loss champion of the 2nd best conference in the country is probably going to get into the CFP. They are just predicting the champion to be Alabama.

The bigger crime is Stanford 9 spots higher than Northwestern.

Iowa and Oklahoma State are hard to rank, because neither have played anyone.

Now, they have a common opponent, Iowa State. Iowa beat them 31-17, Oklahoma State beat them 35-31.

However, Iowa State also lost to Texas Tech by 35, TCU by 24, Baylor by 18 and Oklahoma by 36.

It's hard to say either of those teams deserve to be clearly ranked over the top 1-loss teams, including Alabama, Michigan State or Notre Dame.

Iowa beat Wisconsin which is one of bama's signature wins. The difference being Iowa would actually go on the road to face them.

If Iowa hasn't played anyone then neither has Alabama. Only difference between Iowa and Alabama is that Iowa is undefeated whereas Bama can't even get past lowly Ole Miss.

Yes not sure I follow. Iowa has as many top 25 wins and doesn't have a loss...especially one AT HOME!

Bama gets way way way too much credit when they've struggled to beat some bad teams. They're 2nd best win is a B1G team that's not in first place in their division.

Ohio State, Baylor, Oklahoma State, TCU and Iowa all rank outside the top 50 in SOS. So really, none of those teams have played anyone. In comparison, Notre Dame is 25 and Alabama is 3. That might be why they are getting votes ahead of other unbeaten teams (Iowa and Oklahoma State).

Ohio State is obviously exception given they are defending champs.

I'm not making the numbers up. I'm using the Sagarin ratings on SOS. It breaks down top 10 wins...and top 30 wins.

Alabama is 6-1 vs top 30
Notre Dame is 3-1 vs top 30
Ohio State hasn't played a top 30 team
Oklahoma State is 2-0 vs top 30

I'm not debating that. I'm just pointing out the numbers.

It's also irrelevant because Iowa isn't going to get in as a 1-loss team and if they go unbeaten they are probably the #1 or #2 seed.

Same with Oklahoma State.

Both teams will have to get huge quality wins if they want to go unbeaten anyway.

Like it or not, a 1-loss Alabama and 1-loss Notre Dame are already getting the benefit of the doubt. They will clearly remain at the very top of the 1-loss team rankings regardless.

And who decides who are top 30 teams? Biased voters.

Does anyone actually think Mississippi state is a good win? Of course not. But the voters had them in the top 30, so Alabama gets a good paper win.

So they should decline invites to play USC at Jerry World (or whatever he calls that damn place) or FSU at the Georgia Dome to play a home and home series against someone like Louisville? Why would anyone do that?

Who said anything about Louisville?

Ohio State, Michigan, notre dame, etc. all big time programs they could schedule home and home series.

Exactly. All have proven they aren't afraid of scheduling big names. But the SEC powers won't play a game above the mason dixon line. You may be able to get a Vandy/Tennessee to come up, but Bama/LSU/FLA etc. aren't coming.

Sagarin is not based on voters. Nobody is voting to come up with these rankings.

Sagarin is an absolute joke. He had 14-0 Ohio State ranked behind 11-2 USC in 2002.
