So Parcells > Belichick?

I disagree

Heard about a conversation between Chris Palmer (Browns HC) and one of his players back in 2000-2001-ish. Player says "coach, who we gonna draft in the coming draft (2001)" to which Palmer says "we got our eye on this little running back named 'Tomlinson' that we're going after." Palmer gets fired, Davis gets hired, pulls rank on draft day, selecting Gerard Warren over LT because he "scouted him in high school at Florida when I was with the Hurricanes", or something to that effect.

Davis would've been a really good coach but he couldn't evaluate talent worth a shit. Coaches should be involved in the process (collaborative effort) but they shouldn't have all of their fingers submerged in the drafting "pie."
I was telling my buddy about the similarities with Botch and Chip. Remember all those CFB Championship's Chip won with that team? WOW!

Yeah.
Guess that part of the reason why LeBeau left was because the team was going to want to go this route with some vets. I was always hoping that LeBeau was going to retire a steeler as well.

The busy Bills made another trade. This time for Cassel. He'll compete with ej Manuel for the starting job.

I'm outraged that JJ Watt has a log cabin that is really expensive!

Oh wait, no I'm not as this has no bearing on my day whatsoever.

I'd say it's fairly minimalistic compared to other guys that have 100 million dollar contracts.

Yeah, I agree, but that's life in pro sports. Get tied up in nostalgia with fan-favorite stars and keep them too far past your prime and next thing you know, you've gone from perennial Super Bowl threat to an 0-2 playoff record over the past FOUR years.

At its heart, the NFL's teams looking to win regularly should be like any other corporate entity: devoid of human feeling and caring about nothing but the bottom line. I guess, all things considered, having that mindset be a necessity is a big part of why I don't get as fired up about the NFL as I used to when I was younger. You want the players you love to watch spend their entire careers on your team, but that just can be a stupid business model, so it turns into a big "heart vs head" argument.

Yeah, know what you mean. That is why I pretty much say I root for the name on the front of the jersey's and not the back. Steelers have had to make some tough decisions over the years in getting rid of guys who they just couldnt afford anymore, or was on the downslide. AT times it sucks, but I always trust the organization is doing the right thing, something that many fans cannot say about their teams.

No one "gives a fuck" except for telling you it was stupid, the comments were about how dumb your post was.

Patriots don't pick up the option on Vince Wilfork.

Darnell Dockett signs with the Niners.

I could see Vince resigning at a lower level.

Thank God. I was worried they would get all sentimental and keep him. He no longer can help the Colts and their offense. Would still be a great slot possession WR for a team, but the Colts don't utilize that in their playbook, so he was done.
