So you want a complacent player on the team? Accepting a backup role is one thing, but just striving for a clipboard is another.

This I agree with.

Going after Suh? Browns have the 3rd most $$ to spend at around 50 million....

I'd love the browns to make a run, at Suh, but doubt they will spend the money.

Ideally i'd like to see them bring in Suh, Iupati(doubt he leaves SF), and 2 of the WRs available. That there would address majority of their holes, and could focus draft on drafting a #1 WR at 12, and BPA at 19.

I'm not sure Suh by himself addresses the complete lack of run D.

McCown was not brought in to be the starter.

Didn't say would fix all problems, but would fill the glaring hole on the DL. Still need more out of your LB's.

These are pretty cool, but once again, a lot of the same for the Browns... https://tackk.com/nfl-concept-helmets

Thats a baffling interpretation of what I said. I don't want a second QB who's going to be a prima donna if he doesn't get the gig. Hoyer is a prima donna and McCown is not

Did you pay any attention to last offseason after the draft, this year and this offseason so far?

I don't really see whats prima donna-ish about expecting to be the starter last offseason, or wanting to go to a team where he has a chance to be a starter this offseason. I don't think he's good enough, but can't fault him for wanting to get his. I've heard he was good with teaching Manziel and teammates/coaching staff respected him. Def agree it is time to move on from him though.

I have heard the exact opposite, that he wasn't really willing to help out Manziel.

The issue was he seemed to be upset with the drafting of JFF. Then he was pretty petty all season during the competition. This offseason I can agree as he is a FA, and no reason to hide your feelings anymore.

I completely disagree with the teaching JFF. I read most media outlets report that he refused to help him on the sidelines at practice or anything.

Yeah, everything I heard was he was not about doing a single thing to help JFF.

Maybe I misinterpreted or forget. Its been a while since I have done any reading on it. But if he refused to help Manziel, then I have to agree.

The media is only allow in during the first 12 minutes of practice when they take snaps and warm up, nothing is really done during that time.
Wherever that is coming from is either speculation or inside information leaked out since he won't be on the roster next year.

Are you contending that JFF is the learning type, staying in at night to study the playbook?

It was reported during the season, as well as during camp. The most telling thing?? No one on the Browns came out and vehemently discarded it, despite the reports coming around many times.

And the Media is allowed at camp MUCH longer than the first 12 minutes. Maybe only at practice once season starts, but no real restrictions during camp.

My biggest issue as the season wore on is that it became increasingly more obvious that he wasnt happy with JFF starting. Thats all fine and you can feel that way, but the public shouldnt know it. You gotta support the other 51 guys even if you want JFF to fail. It just seems really obvious to me he was sulking and wasnt about helping JFF and winning at that point.

Iqqy called Hoyer a primadona, thus he wasn't. 1st rule of Browns thread, iqqy/pick6/failwedge are always wrong.

I was going to say, for all of Iggy's conspiracy theory bullshit, seems like a lot of people are agreeing with his "primadona" comments about Hoyer now.

I wouldn't classify not wanting to help Jff as being a prima donna. Prima donnas put themselves ahead of the team, and hoyer wasn't that type of person. Overall he was happy if he played like shit and the Browns still won.

I dont think HOyer is a pre madonna. A meady-oakre QB maybe. If you were a veteran, trying to win a job, how helpful would you be to a player whom isnt taking it seriously? Hell, Hoyer has been around for a bit, but he doesnt even have a ton of experience and ya expect him to teach, tutor and mentor a spoiled brat? Dont think so.
This isnt like some wily old veteran who has been around the league for quite awhile, is a the tail end of his career and he was just trying to hold on for a bit longer who takes the next coming and the future of the franchise under his wings.
