It's baffling. It really is.

6-5 they're still in playoff contention. You're not pulling hoyer unless they're mathematically eliminated
They're done if they lose next week. We'd need to win out and that just isn't going to happen.

Pettine wouldn't pull Hoyer. Would send a horrible message to the team, and he would lose some of the respect he gained all season.

I'm not saying to pull him. Just that our playoff chances are done if we lose.

Gotcha. They aren't done, but it will be improbable with how well the AFC North is playing, and all of the AFC for that matter. Along with the north, the chiefs, dolphins, chargers, and even texans as a sleeper team all will all have say in the playoff race. I honestly don't think the AFC North is good at all, but as a division they lucked out by drawing the worst division in the league. Every team in the north pretty much has a shitty schedule.

It would be nice to see Hoyer show some leadership for once and come out and take the blame for the loss.

He is the first person to take credit for every win, but he is practically invisible after losses.

I wonder if he and his agent will be floating more contract demands in the media like they were after the Cincy game. Something tells me probably not.

He is a selfish me-first primadonna and the sooner he and his supporters are run out of town the better.

You say this and then want the backup QB in? Haha. Ironic.

I will say one thing about Hoyer, after listening to his postgame presser.....he sure does make a lot of excuses. He wasn't accepting blame, nor was he casting it, but his "hangover after a big win" comment was pure bullshit. It's one thing to be flat in Jacksonville, after that beatdown on Pittsburgh, but it's completely another to play comatose, at HOME, while in first place after the big win in Cincy.

I see another loss coming their way in Atlanta, who is suddenly in playoff contantion after their win against Carolina yesterday.

Especially with extra time to prepare.

Exactly. It seems like the more time a Browns team has time to prepare, the worse they look. This team looked Shurmur-like yesterday. I'm still pissed that they were running the ball right AT JJ Watt.

I've been a fan of Miles Austin since he's made some key receptions in earlier games but the return of Gordon this week may relegate him to the bench as Hawkins & Gabriel seem to be more sure handed options.

Miles Austin had some huge drops....might have been a different ballgame if he catches those.

Pass rush was non-existant...did we have any sacks at all?

Cundiff misses an easy FG....Crowell fumbles as we are driving in the red zone....every body chipped in, and it all adds up to a loss.

No sacks at all, to my knowledge. One of the things Houston did well, early, was take away any Browns pass rush by keeping the defense guessing. They'd have a 3rd & 5 (obvious pass, right?) and they'd run the ball. This will keep a defense honest by not knowing what to expect on 3rd down. That being said, there was no excuse for not getting pressure on Mallett.

Daryl Ruiter ‏@RuiterWrongFAN 48m48 minutes ago #Browns had 8 plays Sunday of 20+ yards, 4 were 30+ yards and managed just 7 points
