You can....but you gotta get a hit here and there when it matters.TBone14;1665748 wrote:Exactly. Can't play small ball when you are down 3+. The Royals game is scratch out a lead....scratch out insurance runs and turn the lights out with bullpen.

You can play small ball when you are down and chip away at the lead. Thing is, most teams get hesitant to run when they are down.

Some chinks in the defense for the Royals allows the giants to tie it at 2-2.

If there's one real mistake Bochy has made this postseason it probably is putting a guy who's probably a career minor leaguer on his postseason roster based on a very good couple weeks and then continuing to put him in high-leverage situations. Dude's fastball has flattened out a lot and everything he's throwing is going out of the park.Ironman92;1665977 wrote:Go sit down Strickland you jackass GTFOH. Fucking moron. Good to see the Royals flip it on those NL bums.

Just like the experts said, 6th inning most key. 80% of the runs were scored in the 6th tonight. 55% in game 2, and 0% in game 1 when MadBum pitched.
The only starting pitcher for either team that is much less susceptible in the 6th is MadBum.

In the 9th....Holland went thru the heart of the Giants order (Posey, Sandoval and Pence) like a hot knife thru butter.

Once the ball got by Vogelsong, instead of looking at the 1B bag for a couple steps to get a bead on it again after he was taken off course by going for the ball, he was gawking at Belt playing the ball, and failed to track to the base and the Royals tie it at 1, and follow that with a 2 run single by Infante, and another run scoring single by Perez, knocking Vogey out of the game. His own defense cost him 4 runs and getting to pitch just 3 innings in the WS! Rubber-necker!

Giants have 11 outs to get the game back even to avoid the high probability they'll be down 3-1. Vargas thinks that since pitchers have to bat in NL parks they only need 3 balls to walk!

Conventional wisdom is that if it's tied after 6, it'll go to extra innings.

He's trying to keep his best relievers fresh for game 5 since he didn't have a tie or the lead at the end of 6(the Giants tied the game at 4 on the same play as they made the 11th out I was talking about, the biggest run of the game). Trouble is, with MadBum starting game 5, he may not have much of a chance to have the lead to save for the last 3 innings. Whoever wins game 5 will only need to win one back in KC, so in game 5 the most pressure is on the Giants and MadBum with it being their last home game.Ironman92;1666802 wrote:Yost just silly to stick with Finnegan.

Yeah. When you're going against MadBum in game 5, it pays to go all-out to win Game 4, since MB is the only true ace-caliber starter for either team in this series. "Big Game" James has made sure of that with his Big Implosions.Ironman92;1666968 wrote:Going up 3-1 might've been profitable for them
