Two things on that play.....he was a little late getting there as he held his position, and the throw was up the line a bit. Even if he was straddling the bad like Reynolds was saying he is reaching out into the runner to catch it. A little bit better throw makes it an easy out. Pre replay, it would be hard to get the call when you tag the guy that high no matter and now in replay they have to look a little harder at it.
Better throw=out.

I do think Royals fans deserve some flack though, their attendance this season was absolutely terrible despite them being neck and neck with the Tigers from about June on yet had similar numbers to that of Houston

^^^^I'm not going to give their fans any flack because they are a small market town, and it's hard to believe in a team of no names when you haven't won in 30 years. It takes a while to get into it for the average Joe. Now if their attendance lags next year, after a WS appearance or especially a win....that's another story.

San Fran's win yesterday decreased the liklihood of an I-70 series.....not that I wanted to see one.

Didnt he tentatively agree to sign with the reds and then went to the cardinals? If not..who was it?

I think you are thinking of Grady Sizemore going to the Red Sox, not the Redbirds!

Fat is like the Reds Pena on first, always at least a little fumble, but he came up with a very firm underhand toss to close out the 7th!

I'll tell you....elimination game on the road, without your good stuff and worn down. Adam Wainwright just went all out #1 stud ace. HOF will and desire tonight.

Quite honestly if I was a Cards fan....I'd be begging him to go the 8th

No one in that bullpen has a scratch of resemblance to what Wainwright was tonight.

Tie game 3 pitches in

I'd had let him go until he said he couldn't.

A walkoff here would be something else.

Best game I've seen this postseason.
