So, all this outrage (deservedly so) over Peterson, Rice, Hardy, etc in the NFL and these guys not being allowed to play while awaiting trial...even an outcry for Goodell to lose his job...

So why is there not an outcry/outrage over Hope Solo playing for the Women's national team still while she awaits trial for assaulting two minor family members while drunk?

If this were an adult male athlete getting drunk and assaulting two minors, the general consensus would be he is a deadbeat scumbag, but Solo is still looked at like a hero to most young girl soccer players.

There is no outcry for 2 reasons.

1) She is playing a sport that nobody cares about.
2) She is a woman.

I'd guess a number of differing reasons.

The NFL arguably runs the biggest business of all big-business pro sports leagues and is high-profile all the time. Women's soccer isn't and therefore, won't garner the same headlines for on or off the field stuff. I've read that in Seattle (where her pro team is located), the media there has covered it in-depth, but it hasn't made much of a national wave. In fairness, a number of years back when she was getting married to Jerramy Stevens, he was accused DV on her, but that didn't make big news and went away fairly quickly because he was out of the NFL by this time, they got married afterwards anyway (in this aspect, just like Rice) and Hope had enough of a crazy reputation that I think it sort of just got considered more of the craziness surrounding her.

Also, I think that woman-committed DV simply doesn't get taken as seriously because of the old-school "it's just a girl" mentality where if a woman beats on a guy, he's a big sissy for letting it happen. Which is more a cultural thing than anything else going back to the olden days.

Another thing that may play some sort of role, since this is a case I haven't paid much attention to due to not caring about women's soccer. Is there any sort of "smoking gun" evidence here like with Rice or Peterson? Rice had multiple cameras on him, including the one where he punched her out. Peterson has pics of the beating given to one son and there are text message conversations with various moms talking and/or arguing about the severity of beatings he was giving kids. Hardy has been found guilty and is currently appealing the results. Is there anything like that with her? All I know is that she was accused of it and she plead not guilty, but I don't know if there is some sort of "impossible to deny" footage of her on a rampage. If there isn't, that'd be a huge difference.

If you are around the right circles, there is outrage.

If you don't care about football, don't listen to ESPN, etc. then no one would know about the outcry about Rice, etc.

If we could just mob every wrong doer the world would be so much better
