Meanwhile, the rookies continue to contribute....Zach Walters (Druby Cabrerra trade) has hit his third home run as an Indian to give the Wahoos a 1-0 lead middle of 2nd.

Walters and Holt knocked in a pair of runs each yesterday in the Tribe's 7-5 win.

The Walters kid has shown some good power here so far.

The Tribe has amazed me with their ability to keep in it into the late summer in recent years, as opposed to seasons where they were totally out of it by the end of June (aka the June Swoon).

Now 2-0 in the 4th.

This replay business is great, especially if it can weed out the sucky umps.

(Referring to the stolen base out call reversed in the 4th)

^^^I have to admit I like it. They are not afraid to hurt anybody's feelz.....just get the call right.

Doubles by santana and Kipnis, and a single by Aviles plate a pair....3-0 Tribe.

Tribe has a chance to move 4 games over 500 for the first time in forever with their ace grabbing the ball tomorrow . Last year the team entered September 6 or 7 games above 500, 4.5 games out of the wild card chase. We all remember what happened.I don't see a repeat of last year's fabulous finish in that the starters are too inconsistent. But, you never know.Anybody connecting the dots here on what the record has been since Masterson and Cabrera went bye bye? It's a huge blessing in disguise that Swisher is now tabled as well.

LOL. Who'da thunk it? I think the wild card in this mess is Carlos Carrasco. The guy dominated out of the pen the last 2 years. His 2 starts since returning to the rotation has seen 12 scoreless innings.

We've been getting good pitching all across the board for the past two weeks, and that has been the key. It certainly hasn't been the offense. Removing some of the dead weight and replacing it with some energetic young players has helped.
The team has put itself in a good position to make a run....7 wins in the last 9, and with Houston and Chicago next, they can stack some Ws.

Tribe takes it on the chin today losing 4-1. No offense AGAIN. 5 hits.....the RBI belongs to ZACH WALTERS.

Kluber gave up a pair in the 6th...the difference in the game. Kyle Crockett gave up a meaningless run in the 8th.

The good news is the kitties were shut out by TB today...1-0.

Yan Gomes left the game in the 6th after being shaken up by a foul tip off his mask.
