Oh......now you have brought up something that always bothers me. The lefty/righty bullshit that dominates baseball thinking.

Swisher looks at three straight fastball strikes-he must be drunk.

This is killing our bullpen. We are going to need a starter to go real deep into a game here soon to give these guys a break.

If you are going to play 12+ innings, you might as well win it, though.

Atchison was hit hard in the 13th but worked around a solo homer and the Tribe survive again.

Good win and a nice way to start a 4 game series.

Who are these guys scoring more than 2 or 3 runs a game? Is the batting order shake up the reason? and Santana is batting .153, game winning hit or not.

The defense was absolutely atrocious yesterday.
Lonnie Chisenhall should be in the lineup almost everyday.
Brantley should be kept in the 3 hole even after Kipnis gets back.
Santana and Swisher need "more rest". I don't mean that they should be benched...only rotated out of the lineup evry 4th or 5th day.

Swisher and Santana should take turns DHing, playing 1st, playing 3rd(Santana). Chiz is batting Carlos weight better than Carlos BA and hes tearing the cover off it right now.

^^^Bourn needs to stay healthy.

I don't understand how Santana can be hitting so poorly. Especially since he might be the league leader in walks. He doesn't swing at a lot of balls so it has to be swing related. It is difficult to be below .150. Even going 1 for 5 is raising his average.

a lot of it is hitting into the shift which everyone is employing against him this year....the guy needs to work on going the other way, which is going to be hard with that big leg kick.

Nearly impossible--he'll have to completely overhaul his swing. However, if he doesn't, he may not be in the league long.

His average will come up but average isn't the most important thing.

His OBP is .304. Certainly not great but compare that to Aviles who is hitting .275 but only has an OBP of .299. Bourn is hitting .278 but his OBP is only .308.

gonna have to be something he does in the off season.

Fortunately for him, he has a great eye and isn't afraid to work a walk especially when behind in the count. If it wasn't for that he would be worth shit. He's a mediocre catcher, an even worse 3Bman....and average at 1B. Most certainly not a good enough fielder to justify keeping him in the lineup with Mendoza #'s....let alone a buck fifty. I think his average will come up too....but he's going to have to revamp his style at some point. I really don't see anything changing this year. He's at least decent from the right side...and I'd seriously think about keeping him out of the lineup against tough right handers. He'd be a great bat coming off the bench against a matchup lefty. Maybe you don't have him bat left handed ...AT ALL.
