Personally, I am pulling for Sterling to somehow transfer the team to a family member. Watching the ensuing media and NBA player firestorm would be legendarily awesome. I've heard where the NBA can stop that or will at least do everything in its power to ensure that doesn't happen (obviously), but maybe Sterling, the savvy, litigious man he is reported to be, can somehow beat it. Seems unlikely, but would be awesome. I have plenty of popcorn in case.

It would be comical and pretty enjoyable TV to watch . I have to agree with that. However the good thing to do is send that family on it's way.
I just hope the money grubbing skank who did this illegal taping gets all her money taken from her. I do hope the Sterling family wins that law suit.

Really...I have no love for this "family" but I have my reservations for public ruination of people who technically have broken no laws, but have been 'caught' voicing an 'unapproved' thought. It is easy to hate on the Sterlings and justify this as their comeuppance..but what about good people who have bad moments? Paula Deen comes to mind.

Only one in this situation I ever felt bad for was the jimmy the Greek guy... While misguided I absolutely don't think he meant his comments to be racist

I believe that also. I had his brother for a land lord once. That guy is kind of shady.

I agree but it's not like this family is going to walk away broke. He could go by an Island somewhere. Go buy a yacht and travel all over . He didn't mind putting people on the streets because he said black people aren't clean and smell and Latino's are drunks.

So I most definitely see this going to court, so that he can die and just let the team follow the path I assume he set up.

not sure if i can condemn the whole family. i know plenty of families who have a racist dad but the mom and daughter both love black guys:)

^^^Haha....but the first part of that is true. You can't condemn the whole family, and racism within a family most certainly recedes in suceeding generations.

I hate the term racist because it is an overused term that has lost its true meaning and been redefined by liberal thought and political correctness to apply to even mild cases of discrimination or predjudice.

Adolf Hitler was a racist. Donald Sterling is guilty of some discrimination and is predjudiced to a greater or lesser degree.

I'm saying racist/racism involves a more active component. It is one thing to say "I don't like white people"....and another thing to act on those feelings.

It's a perfect analogy. You made a comparison in Sterling's level of racism with Hitler's. Sterling's words were racist, and no action is required for him to correctly be labelled as a racist (you don't get to make up your own definitions of words).

Actually, racism can simply be the thought, and never expressed or acted upon. Discrimination is more or less the action being taken.

...and yet that is exactly what has been done with the term in question. That you have been indoctrinated to define it your way is testament to that.

You mean as in running your rental properties in such a way that you've had to pay out immense sums of money due to having discriminatory rental practices against minorities?

Like Sterling has had to do.

Don't get me wrong, Sterling may be a racist....I'm arguing that the word is overused to the point where it is overapplied.
