I don't think anyone thinks he guarantees a championship, just that for the next 4 to 5 years he puts them in a much better position than Wiggins would to contend for a title. Kevin Love is a proven commodity in this league and one of the 5 most productive players in the world. It may be quite a few years before Wiggins reaches that level. You don't want to waste Lebron's prime years(he doesn't have many left) waiting for Wiggins' game and intangibles to catch up to his athleticism.SportsAndLady;1638504 wrote:Who is saying he is overrated? Just laugh at people who assume Cleveland is winning a championship with Love. It's not a sure thing Love is an all star playing on a team with more than Division 2 NCAA players.

Did you watch him in the summer league? He got beat off the dribble consistently. Not saying he's not a good defender but he has to get stronger at this level. His lateral quickness wasn't as great on ball as I thought it might be.Commander of Awesome;1638506 wrote:Wiggins playing defense is better receipe for success than love chucking 3s. Esp considering he'll take the top offensive weapon night after night saving lbj's body and energy for the offensive end.

I'm not "throwing shit." It would be nice to have a great defense but seriously, tell me who is going to stop Kyrie, Lebron AND Love? Your answer? Nobody. They'd win with offense. You might contain Kyrie one night but LBJ & Love will go off. The next night, Love may be off while LBJ & Kyrie thrive, and so on, and so on....SportsAndLady;1638508 wrote:Lol you are just throwing shit hoping it sticks. +1, that team wins 60-65 games. Lebron will make everyone buy into the defensive end. Playing on a winning and championship level team will change Kevin Love's mentality defensively completely imo.BR1986FB;1638513 wrote:I'm not "throwing shit." It's that easy huh? Shit, you should call Gilbert and Grant and tell them your philosophy. It's clear you've learned from so many championship teams in Cleveland in your years, your knowledge cannot be wrong.BR1986FB;1638513 wrote:I'm not "throwing shit." Hey, you guys can hate on him all you want and he is a jersey chaser but a lot of what he's saying is valid. It's going to take awhile for Wiggins to develop and in the meantime, Lebron's prime is wasting away.SportsAndLady;1638517 wrote:Well you just agreed with robj, so what's that tell you?

Not condemning Wiggins just saying he got beat a ton. I've always said it's too early to judge the kid in the long term really because I think we all believe he will develop.SportsAndLady;1638517 wrote:Well you just agreed with robj, so what's that tell you?

Oh wait, the mavs.
There is more to winning a championship then fucking having 3 good offensive players.

And who said there wasn't more to it than having 3 good offensive players? I don't think they are going to beat teams 135-130 every night. They will play some defense. They just won't be a lockdown defense.
I also thin you're underestimating David Blatt. I thought he was going to be real good before LBJ decided to return. This is going to make him even better.

But that's not even the point. 4 years ago, everyone said those 3 would be a huge dynasty and who is going to stop them on the offensive end? Then the mavs did lol

Then they just got their ass handed to them because it became Big 1 little 2 with no bench and no young talent. Apparently, Cleveland is attempting to create the next Big 1 little 2 with no bench and no young supporting cast.SportsAndLady;1638530 wrote:4 years ago, Lebron wade and bosh is better than Lebron love and kyrie now.

I'd rather keep the assets we have now and be a championship level competitor for the next 20 years rather than just the next 4.

I just think Gilbert knows any kind of championship in Cleveland will be so ridiculously celebrated....not sure how an owner wouldn't want to go for it immediately.
Cleveland fans...very good for 4 years and win a championship or a top 4 seeded playoff team for a decade and never win it all?
Nothing is guaranteed either way...Wiggins or Love

Exactly, which is why I'd rather go with the known versus the unknown. I'd love to sit around and wait to see what Wiggins becomes, because I really do think he'll be something special, but they've got to strike while Lebron still has prime years left.Ironman92;1638559 wrote:Next 20 years lol.

The team they have now is good enough to win a championship. Strike now and then fizzle out in a few years once Love tears his ACL and we gutted all our young assets. Love is too risky and not worth the gutting of the team.BR1986FB;1638566 wrote:Exactly, which is why I'd rather go with the known versus the unknown. Lebron just took a team with 2 scrub "all-stars" and a shitty bench to the NBA Finals. Wiggins/Love isn't going to make a difference, but if you keep Wiggins you have a ready-to-go top 5 talent once Lebron starts hitting his twilight years.Ironman92;1638559 wrote:Next 20 years lol.

This is from ESPN Insider. If they are offering Bennett, Waiters AND Wiggins in this proposed three way, they are just pplain DUMB. THIS I'd want no part of....
Cleveland may need a third team to work out a deal for Kevin Love, and the Cavaliers may have found a taker.
Philadelphia is one of three teams, along with Denver and Boston, that Sean Deveney of the Sporting News reports are the leading candidates to serve as a third team in the Love-to-Cleveland deal. On Tuesday night, Sam Amico of FOX Sports Ohio reported that there are "whispers of the 76ers possessing a strong interest in Cavs guard Dion Waiters."
Waiters is the latest name on the Cavs to come up as a possible piece in the deal, but only after weeks of speculation that Cleveland may be willing to offer up Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett and a future first-round pick to land the All-Star power forward.
We'll continue to keep you posted on any further developments when we hear about them.

It absolutely is. They will win 60 games with the current line up, top 2 team in the East. Will they beat the Spurs? Not sure.BR1986FB;1638573 wrote:No

Getting to the finals is not the goal. Championship or bust during the rest of LeBrons Cleveland career. Over the next year or two Love is easily the safer bet to help get it done....but when Wiggins is likely to be the better bet to help LeBron win it all in 3 years....will LeBron still be LeBron?sleeper;1638571 wrote:Lebron just took a team with 2 scrub "all-stars" and a shitty bench to the NBA Finals. No matter how it's done....Cleveland is sitting way prettier and should be a Finals team....but the fans and city need a championship, it doesn't have to be this year or the next...but then LeBron's age and wear may become a significant factor.

No. They will be top 2-3 in the East but I'm skeptical they'll get out of the East.sleeper;1638575 wrote:It absolutely is. They will win 60 games with the current line up, top 2 team in the East. Will they beat the Spurs? Not sure.
