With that roster in the West? He was coach of the year two years ago.

because his team consistently won in the west with less talent?

Hollins or Karl would be at the top of my list. Mark Jackson too, but I doubt he'd consider it, so not really counting him.

George Karl is a guy that's peaked, and his peak is nothing to brag about. No thank you. There is a reason he isn't coaching anywhere right now. He took the Nuggets out of the 1st round once with Melo.

As opposed to a team with melo achieving so much more

So why are teams not beating down the door either last year or this year to hire him if he is so great?

How in the world do you know he's peaked? It's also pretty obvious that Melo isn't a winner, he doesn't make winning basketball plays.

There are a lot of good options. I just don't want to end up with a guy like Del Negro or Gentry. Or D'Antoni.

Hollins is a good coach, but seems like a terrible personnel fit with Griffin.

Per ESPN insider... If he wants to be the coach, just give him the fucking job. Don't even play games:

George Karl's name is one that will undoubtedly be linked with most all of the remaining coaching vacancies around the league, but the whispers on Thursday have the veteran 63-year-old coach particularly interested in returning to Cleveland.

Many of you may not recall that Karl coached the Cavs once before, taking over 30 years ago way back in 1984. It was his first head coaching opportunity in the NBA, and if he had it his way he'd reportedly love to return.

Sam Amico of FOX Sports Ohio writes in separate tweets:
"One thing (I) keep hearing out of Chicago: George Karl really wants Cavs coaching job.

"Obviously, Karl interested in any opening, really wants to get back into it. But Cavs are where career started. He's big Kyrie fan."
The long list of other names being mentioned as potential candidates with the Cavs include Mark Jackson, Lionel Hollins, Alvin Gentry, Nate McMillan, Adrian Griffin, John Calipari, Vinny Del Negro, Mike D'Antoni, Phoenix assistant Jerry Sichting, Utah assistant Alex Jensen and former Cavs great Mark Price.

We'll let you know when we hear more about Karl's chances for the job.

Exactly. Don't dick around by trying to sell the team to other coaches who probably would rather take a glamour job or better roster.

@Probballdraft: Per league source Cavs look to trade Tristan Thompson. Key in probable trade is Cavs know Thompson requires a deal on par w/ Favors & Monroe

What kind of value does he realistically have? Late 1st round pick maybe?

Idk but I'm tired if picks. We need more experience, not youth.

We need more talent. I don't care how old it is.

I'd agree with Moving TT, might be able to get a mid-late 1st rd pick for him.

Wonder if the Cavs will work their magic again tonight and end up with a higher pick in the draft.

Which I think is 9th.

So far I like about 10 prospects in this draft, so that'd be ok with me.

We could get as low as 12th if 3 teams somehow jump to the top 3.
