Exactly, I'm not sure he has a good feel for the game or IQ.

If Cleveland could trade that pick for Kevin Love and land Lebron, they are the favorites to win a title. Lebron could even bring a Bosh with him possibly. I don't know what Cleveland's cap space is.

Cleveland wouldn't have the Cap space for Lebron, Bosh, Love.

Would take some work to even get LeBron and Love both under. Getting rid of TT and Jack would definitely clear up the space.

Even if Lebron and Bosh took less money?

Why not trade Irving&#1 for KD and talk him into a below market deal as well?

There's 32 million committed between the 7 guys under contract. The cap level is projected to be 63.2 million.

Because that would never happen, the things I said could actually happen. Long shot I know. Wouldn't shock me at all to see Lebron return to Cleveland and he has clout now, people will follow him because he is the best in the game and a champion.

As someone who watched little NCAA ball outside of OSU this season, any chance Randle goes #1?

In another draft maybe, but not with the group of talent that is in this draft.

Depends how much less they took I guess :)

Cavs next year have 47,161,000 committed, Includes Varejao.

Dumping Varejao would take it to 37,457,000

Which would be approx 20 million in cap space for next season.

Kevin Love will add 15,719,000. Giving approx 5 million to play around with. This is where they'd have to shed a lot of money, just to fit in LeBron

Dumping TT, Jack, and Alonzo Gee would get us back down to approx 38,738,000 committed which would be around 20m in cap space again. If LeBron took a contract with a base salary starting where this year left off, would be for a shade under 20m.

TL;DR version.

They can definitely fit Love and LeBron under the cap even taking in existing numbers. If you dumped more of the roster (Dion, Bennett) and could convince LeBron and Bosh to both take huge cuts, you could fit them in.

No. He will be a fine pro, but he is a bit undersized and not overwhelming athletically/quickness.

Id take Noah Vonleh ahead of him if I am a pro team. More attributes (better handles, much better shot, more athletic and quicker). Year younger and an inch taller (supposedly).

Interesting, there is some flexibility there.

People need to just stop with the Lebron talk.

It's not happening.

The cap is projected to be higher than your estimate.

The NBA issued new projections for the 2014-15 and 2015-16 salary cap and luxury tax thresholds. The 2014-15 salary cap is now projected to be $63.2 million and the tax level is projected to be $77.0 million.

Varejao's deal also has $4 mil in dead money which I forgot about before, so I believe they actually have about $36 million committed not including the non-guaranteed deals. So probably around $10 million total would need to be shaved off somewhere if anything was to actually happen with Lebron.

Are the Cavs currently utilizing any exceptions? MLE could come in handy if they end up making a big play. Going to be an interesting couple of months for sure.

I change my mind. Take Embid. Embid, Irving, Lebron = 10 championships.

No way Lebron stays with broken knees Wade and vaginal discharge Bosh over that core.

Take Parker or Wiggans. Worried about embiids back. If his back checks out, take him.
