Gosh, who's going to be his replacement? Whoever it is I bet they move it to Los Angeles.

Conan O'Brien.

The best late night host of his generation, and one of the greatest comedians of our time. The guy's a genius. He won't be at TBS much longer.

I always enjoyed Letterman as a kid (late '90s/early '00s). He was my mom's favorite, so I would watch with her. He was pretty sharp back then and as talented an interviewer as there was. But time has not treated him well and he's gotten lazy and now seems content with just "being there." Dave has lost his edge.

That's where Conan comes in. He's every bit as talented an interviewer and has the vibrant and contagious spirit that Letterman once did. I think he'd be a tremendous steal for CBS and a big "fuck you" to NBC, something Letterman would certainly be on board with.

Conan is not for everybody. Then again everybody is not for everybody.

When it comes to repartee with guests, however, there are none who do it better. Say what you want about Conan's particular style, but he conducts a captivating interview. He's a gifted improvisational comedian.

Though Jimmy Kimmel is awfully good. I like him a lot as well.

I remember Chris Rock saying once that the Backstreet Boys were like coke, nobody admits it, but everybody's doing it. Conan is the opposite, every talks about how cool and funny he is, but nobody actually watches.

I always liked Letterman but Fallon is killing everyone in ratings. Fallon is so popular he's actually demanding that guests can not go on any other show outside his network if they want to be on his. I think Letterman sees the writing on the wall. I wouldn't bet against them going after Seth Meyers and rushing him along.

Letterman was great at NBC, and kept it up for a few years on CBS. He turned into a grumpy old man several years ago (post 9/11) and didn't recover. I'm surprised that this hasn't occurred earlier.

That coke joke is great.

As for Conan, I don't think he's all that cool or hip or whatever. He's an awkward 50-year-old with an orange pompadour. I like him because he's an entertaining interview with a wicked sense of wit. I'm also a big fan of surreal humor, which has always been a function of his late night shows.

Fallon is basically re-inventing the late night show right now. He's not a very good interviewer, but the other parts of his show are the best in the business...by a bunch. Conan is the best interviewer by quite a bit. I also like Craig Ferguson, he's basically just like a drunk guy having conversations with celebrities.

IMO nothing holds a candle to the Daily Show and The Colbert Report, which prove it by never losing in the Emmy's anymore to the other talk shows

You are also like 12 years old, so you wouldn't know anything about Dave during his prime.

Absolutely no way that Meyers leaves NBC. He's a former head writer at SNL, and Lorne Michaels not only gave him his shot with Weekend Update and Late Night, but Michaels also produces Meyers' animated show on Hulu. Unless NBC screws him first, Meyers will patiently wait until getting the call up after Fallon is done.

Conan has to be the front runner to replace Letterman. But I wouldn't be surprised if there is a push for a non-white male to host the show.

I've always felt that. I'll actually bother to watch interviews with Conan, the others (including Leno) rarely.

Not sure why, but Conan was just a lot better on the original late night. When Fallon started out, his entire show was terrible...a lot of his skits and bits now are pretty good, and reminds me a lot of Carson. Although Fallon's stand-up/monologue is pretty rough (still marginally better than Letterman and Conan, so obviously not critical to success), but he's maintained ratings well past the Olympics bump vs. Conan who started a nose dive not long after debuting.
