I'd say staying married to a complete **** that controls your life is a helluva lot worse than being gay.

LOL. Now being gay is bad behavior. Amazing. Every single gay person I know has known they were attracted to the same sex for as long as they can remember. Exactly the same as me knowing I liked boys as young as five years old. My sister being with a man would be like you being with a man.*

Maybe I was misunderstood.
When I said not normal I of course meant their conduct, not their hair color or height, etc.
A dude who wants to screw another dude...is not normal.
A chick who wants to screw another chick....is not normal.

More and more people tend to be accepting of gays because they know one, are related to one, and are friends with one and decide to be more accepting of the lifestyle because of the fact a family member/friend is gay. They think 'hey, this person isnt so bad' and then are more accepting of the lifestyle even though it is wrong.

Not so different than those people who are family members/friends with someone who is a crook, or has done alot of bad stuff, and say the person isnt that bad, they just do bad acts.

Any gay may be a good person, but their act of wanting someone of the same sex that is just bad/wrong, and yes...not normal
.
Start a survey of the small sample on here asking "Are you indifferent to the gay community because you know someone who's gay and you like them anyways, or because you've realized that gays don't affect your life in one way or another?"

The bolded part is what's especially stupid about your post. Who are you to decide what's bad/wrong and not normal?? It's ironic coming from you, who allows their wife to act like a raging asshole.

I also find it funny/odd since he is embarrassed by his wife and her family being ignorant racists. I would think that most people who abhor racism also abhor homophobia.

i always feel that people like that really have never had a good friend or family member they cared about that was gay. Im definitly wasnt the most sensitive person about it when i was in H.S. or college. I def used the word *** or even would say "thats gay" a lot. It wasnt till later when i became friends with a couple of people who were gay that i really respected(and a few deep conversations) that i totally changed my thinking and understanding of the subject. now when i get the chance i try to encourage others to become more tolerant.

I've never had a bad thought about being gay in my head. I look at people who are gay the same as I look at people who like mayonnaise. I wouldn't do it, but so be it if others want to.

I'm amazed every fkg day by the amount of rhetoric & energy expended by the media, politicians, churches, legislators and Joe Six Packs on who is having sex with who. This is the biggest waste of conversation in the world today IMO. Why anyone would give a flying horses ass about who someone else wants to have sex with is beyond comprehension. Unless your personal sex space is being invaded by unwanted suitors...please world STFU!

100% agree.

I don't care if people are gay or lesbian.

I do care if they want special rights for being such.

Pretty much this. I think the big debate is what's considered special rights.

I don't know, like the ability to push their agenda at a parade in which no one is allowed to push their agenda? Did you even read the thread?

Wish I could say the same. I used to be a huge homophobe. No idea why. Just my upbringing I suppose. I was bad, to the point that I disowned a close cousin when she came out, and another good friend when he did. I used to be of the "they have a choice" mentality. As I grew up though, I did learn the error of my ways and stopped being a dumbass. Now my cousin and I are close family again, and my friend is back to being a damn good friend. I just regret that because of my idiocy, we missed out on quite a few years of our lives together.

Asking a cake baker to make a wedding cake for them, even if it is against his/her beliefs. We aren't Catholic, we didn't expect a Catholic Priest to bless our wedding, or even an organist that only does Catholic weddings to play the organ in our ceremony. But two idiots insisted on a cake baker to make a wedding cake for them sued - and won. That is a special right.

Editing the F-bomb. I agree with this, no problems with gays, just the gay political lobby. It is getting out of control when they expect not just tolerance, but cookies for being who they are, which is fine. But you don't get affirmative action and special treatment for it.

You pompous dickheads...the gay lobby has to be big & bold because of assholes like you that want to deny them the same basic rights you and your 300lb hillbilly " spouse" enjoy now. God I'd love to kick everyone of you homophobes in the balls.
