That may indeed be but I don't understand why you think Polamalu would be avoiding getting beat up by returning to play.sleeper;1643124 wrote:The doctors will be working overtime anyway after the game. They get paid by the hour.

Well, I could be wrong Con_Alma but it seems like he tried to fake an injury to get out of the game but the doctors were like "Nope, you're playing" because they want more money.Con_Alma;1643129 wrote:That may indeed be but I don't understand why you think Polamalu would be avoiding getting beat up by returning to play.

The doctors don't decide if he plays or not. He has no obligation to play. It's entirely his decision. His career as an officer is more important to the the Navy than him playing football. They have invested over $300,000 in him. Every student is on a scholarship there including non-football players. He had full support from his teammates and the coaching staff to retire. The doctors only clear him medically.

Navy is going to need every serviceman in the country on the field at the same time to even come within 50 points of Ohio State.Con_Alma;1643133 wrote:The doctors don't decide if he plays or not. You've been very clear on that point. The others you've tried to make...not so much.sleeper;1643142 wrote:Navy is going to need every serviceman in the country on the field at the same time to even come within 50 points of Ohio State.

I am certain this is incorrect because I won't be and I am part of the nation.

Just got my tickets the other day and I am pretty pumped to be heading to the game, even if it is in that dump of a stadium.
But, those that are going, any recommendations for tailgating spots?

These guys came within a hair of beating Ohio State a few years ago. They always seem to be dangerous.
Sleeper wouldn't make it one week at the academy is my guess.

The easiest thing they do all day in Annapolis is go to football practice.Dr Winston O'Boogie;1644850 wrote:These guys came within a hair of beating Ohio State a few years ago. They always seem to be dangerous.

You're right. I'd make it 4 years, graduate with honors, and then get a real job instead of getting blown out by OSU on August 30, 2014.Dr Winston O'Boogie;1644850 wrote:These guys came within a hair of beating Ohio State a few years ago. They always seem to be dangerous.

After you graduate I believe you have to serve 4 years in the Navy. With your McDonalds experience you would be of great help in the galley.sleeper;1645158 wrote:You're right. I'd make it 4 years, graduate with honors, and then get a real job instead of getting blown out by OSU on August 30, 2014.

Again, their last game was anyone's to win with OSU barely pulling it out. That may not be the case this time, but I wouldn't be so cocky. I will grant you this though - the current hired gun/coach of the Buckeyes wouldn't hesitate to run up points on Navy and win by a lopsided score if the opportunity arises. I just don't think that'll be the case.sleeper;1645158 wrote:You're right. I'd make it 4 years, graduate with honors, and then get a real job instead of getting blown out by OSU on August 30, 2014.

I had a friend on that navy team. Was the starting nose tackle. First, OSU had that game well in hand and then let off the gas. Two and this come straight from my friend, tress made that game soooo much about navy. They were almost uncomfortable with how much attention he was giving them. It was respectable for sure. He just said most of them thought it was too much.Dr Winston O'Boogie;1645204 wrote:Again, their last game was anyone's to win with OSU barely pulling it out. I don't think that will be the case with Urbin Meyer. He will keep his foot on the gas.

Meyer will run it up on Helen Keller's school for the Blind if he had the chance so yeah, he will put up points on the Naval Academy if it is possible. He is from the SEC so he knows all about the style points!

I could see Tress doing that. One could say a coach would go overboard just to get his team fired up but I think JT did that more out of respect for playing a service academy.
