Half a percent? Wow, be very careful there. It may be legit, but that seems high for a promotion. Make sure they're not tagging on a $500 finance fee to jack up the APY.

I do this stuff for a living lol

Fine print:
[SUP]†[/SUP] Discount offer is good from 1/31/2014 to 3/10/2014. To qualify for discount offer, you must use the USAA Car Buying Service and fund the purchase of a vehicle from a USAA certified dealer listed on your savings certificate with a USAA Federal Savings Bank auto loan by 3/10/2014. The savings certificate must be generated no more than 90 days prior to your loan being funded. Your loan will originally be set up without the rate discount. After your loan agreement is signed and your vehicle purchase is complete, we will confirm that you qualify for the discount and apply the discount to your loan. Your loan payment amount will not be lowered, but the loan may pay off earlier due to the discounted rate. Discount for new vehicles is .50% off of the approved interest rate for 36, 48 and 60 month terms. Discount for used vehicles is .50% off of the approved interest rate for 36, 48 and 60 month terms. Discount is .25% off of the approved interest rate for 61-72 month terms for both new and used vehicles. Please allow 3-5 business days for processing. Offer unavailable in Alaska. Please refer to usaa.com/autoloanoffer to learn more about the discount offer and to check for dealers.

Also noticed that the dealership in Louisville offers a $250 discount off the final negotiated price for USAA customers.
[h=3]$250 USAA Member Discount[/h]You must present your Price Protection Certificate to your Dealer Representative upon arrival at the Dealer. This Dealer will then provide an additional $250 discount off the final negotiated price of this vehicle.

Yeah..UPON arrival so you dont get 250 off the final negotiated price as they can build that into the negotiations....

Show it at the beginning and hopefully they forget about it while we negotiate. I'll stall. :)

I just bought a used CR-V a few weeks ago. I gave them a number that I wanted out the door. It was $1500 under what they had it listed as. They came down to $200 above my out the door number, they threw in a free tank of gas and free lifetime car washes at the dealership. I agreed to it.

The ball was in my court though. I was willing to walk and I was paying cash.
False, if you finance through a dealer through a bank, the dealer is most likely getting .5% interest as a kickback from the bank. If your bring your own financing, no diff than a cash deal
