I think a lot of people confuse support and love. If my child chose this path, I can't say that I would support their actions and decisions, however, I would love them unconditionally. If my child decided to do drugs, I would not support their decision, but I would love them unconditionally. If my child decided to marry an ex-con, I would not support their decision, but I would love them unconditionally.

...but that is just plain wrong. YOu must also support the behavior no matter what you feel about it or you are a bigot.ernest_t_bass;1579789 wrote:I think a lot of people confuse support and love. only if you can't come up with a better reason than "cause the bible tells me so".thavoice;1579792 wrote:...but that is just plain wrong. YOu must also support the behavior no matter what you feel about it or you are a bigot.

This depends if you think being gay is a choice. So if it is not a choice, it would be the same as not supporting your child because they have blue eyes.ernest_t_bass;1579789 wrote:I think a lot of people confuse support and love. The bible doesn't say, "Don't marry ex-cons." Unless it's in the Dead Sea Scrolls.queencitybuckeye;1579796 wrote:only if you can't come up with a better reason than "cause the bible tells me so".

I personally don't believe it's a choice. I get ETB what is saying, and I agree for the most part. But I don't think I wouldn't support my son if he came to me and told me he was gay.pmoney25;1579797 wrote:This depends if you think being gay is a choice. I would not support my child having sex with a tree, or an animal, or furries, or cars, or inanimate objects, but I'd still love them. All people are born sexually attracted to something, right?pmoney25;1579797 wrote:This depends if you think being gay is a choice. Sure. Alcoholism is a disease, which most people are born with. So, go ahead.I Wear Pants;1579810 wrote:Do I need to explain how being gay and being a drug addict are not the same thing?

Well it depends on what kind of tree right?ernest_t_bass;1579803 wrote:I would not support my child having sex with a tree, or an animal, or furries, or cars, or inanimate objects, but I'd still love them. All people are born sexually attracted to something, right?
At first I believed it was a choice and I think it is with a number of them. I do think there is a certain percentage that are just wired wrong that lead them to be attacted to the same sex. Children are born every single day with things wrong with them and being attracted to the same sex is along those same lines.

If you're going to not be hypocritical, you should find being left-handed a disease. Or having green eyes. Or being unusually tall or short.ernest_t_bass;1579820 wrote:I view them both as something people are born with.
