I think he refs 4th grade flag football or something. I wouldn't question him.ernest_t_bass;1664696 wrote:What? What does this shit even mean?

FSU was in man coverage and #26 was just out of position.
When I saw the replay, I thought it was a good call, too. Until I actually went back and saw the DB jam Prosise at the line. That's when I realized it was a bad call.
Incorrect.

The call was on Fullersherm03;1664683 wrote:Oh you mean Will Fuller who was trying to run a route and got jammed by the DB in the end zone? Sorry. If you're not throwing that flag all night, you don't throw it when the game is on the line. And the call was on CJ Prosise. Not on Will Fuller. It was a bad call.

Not sure how you can drop ND that far. I hate them, but they played well last night. I'd put them over a TCU team who blew a 21 point lead for sure.
On the flip side ND now 1-17 vs top 5 teams since 99

lol sherm and some others in full fucking crybaby mode. Its the right call and props to the refs for throwing the flag in a crucial situation. Running a pick play isn't hard. But with the academic scandal, its clear these guys arent the brightest. You have to sell it.

With the way the last couple weeks had gone, I was starting to worry that OU had fallen to only being better than Kent in their half of the MAC. Thank you, Akron, for proving me wrong!

High school but good one. I mean don't you all think it's funny that all the refs are saying how good of a call it was? When people who are actually paid to study and interpret the rules of the game agree you are fighting a bit of an uphill battle. You can't actually block defenders on a pass before the ball is caught and they clearly were. That's why screens are used, you can kinda get away with it because it happens so quick it's really bang bang. This was notRotinaj;1664698 wrote:I think he refs 4th grade flag football or something. I guess that's something they can hang their hat on this season. Lucking into beating a Freshman QB in his first ever start. Hope they enjoy watching from home in December while Akron is in a bowl game somewhere.Heretic;1664713 wrote:With the way the last couple weeks had gone, I was starting to worry that OU had fallen to only being better than Kent in their half of the MAC. Let's ignore the fact that Ohio has also been using its back-up QB the past few weeks.

congrats on being the better team yesterday.Keep in mind Akron is a program 1.5 seasons removed from 3 straight 1-11 seasons. Keep in mind that OU beat Akron by 37 points at Akron last season with our starting QB. Enjoy the win over Akron yesterday. One fan base is happy over a 3 point win over Akron with a freshman making his first ever start at QB. One fan base is disappointed with losing even with a freshman making his first ever start at QB. If that isn't a testament to the state of the each of the programs, I dont know what is.believer;1664722 wrote:lol ok

I'm okay with the loss. The program still has a lot of improving to do. Its unrealistic expectations to think we will already always beat teams who we are supposed to beat. Akron will be bowling this season, and Ohio won't be barring any unforseen upsets. You guys should have a great season finale against Miami. I'll enjoy whatever ride Bowden and Amato take us on. They've already improved the program a ton in a very short period. You guys enjoy Solich. You're program has peaked.

True. Ohio will need to beat Western Michigan and Northern Illinois to go bowling. Not likely considering an injured Vick is riding the bench. And it is equally true that Akron only needs to beat UMass, Kent, and maybe Buffalo to be bowl eligible. Enjoy how that feels. The Bobcats have gone bowling 6 of the past 7 seasons. Akron hasn't seen a bowl game in almost a decade. In fact it's the ONLY bowl game the Zips have enjoyed. No wait...it was a loss. So I suppose I can understand why you're excited. After all these things do go in cycles.Pick6;1664751 wrote:Akron will be bowling this season, and Ohio won't be barring any unforseen upsets.
Perhaps...but we did beat Akron this season even if we don't see the post-season.Pick6;1664751 wrote:They've already improved the program a ton in a very short period. You guys enjoy Solich. You're program has peaked.
