Prove that the best teams are in the same conference. You can't. However you have a system in each conference that determines the best team; how can you be the best team in the country and not the best team in your own conference?sherm03;1660378 wrote:I would disagree with the first part. In a four team playoff, it's even more important to assure you have the top teams in there. It's not crazy to think that the two best teams are from one conference. In an 8 team playoff you can give each conference champ an auto-bid and fill the remaining with at-large teams (which would help to account for the two best teams coming from the same conference). But in a 4 team playoff, I think all spots are at-large. Just my opinion, though.
As for your second part, I agree 100%. Big 12 does need to have a championship game.
If the SEC teams think they are being treated unfairly, they are free to move to another weak conference. But really, if your team is not Alabama don't be surprised when you become a middle of the road team in another conference.

Drake just got his leg completely fucked up for Bama....damn that was nasty. Can't fathom him returning this year.

Umm...upsets happen, bro. This is sports. The best team doesn't always win (see OSU vs. VaTech earlier this year). And I'm not saying that you are the best team in the country without being the best in your conference. But I am saying that you COULD be better than the best in every other conference without being the best in your own conference.sleeper;1660384 wrote:Prove that the best teams are in the same conference. If the point of the playoffs is to put the 4 best teams into a playoff to determine a champion, then the 4 best teams need to go in regardless of conference affiliation.

I saw his foot and thought it was an ankle, but on replay I think it might have been his knee, and his entire lower leg was just rotated.Ironman92;1660387 wrote:Drake just got his leg completely fucked up for Bama....damn that was nasty. Can't fathom him returning this year.

I know it won't last but would like to see TCU find a way but know OU will pull away a bit in the 4th

We've had this lame "debate" before. Your logic follows that there is no true champion because upsets happen. Grow up.sherm03;1660388 wrote:Umm...upsets happen, bro. This is sports. SEC fans can move conferences if they want to cry about it.

So, in a conference like the B1G or SEC, where there are 2 divisions and not everyone plays each other, you can truly NOT be the best team if you are the runner-up? Look at Wisconsin's schedule this year and tell me that they could potentially NOT be the 2nd best team in the conference even if they make the B1G title game?sleeper;1660384 wrote:Prove that the best teams are in the same conference. Who cares about second best team? The point of a championship is to determine the best team and we do that through a championship system. If you are the best team in your conference, you will win your conference championship.Azubuike24;1660398 wrote:So, in a conference like the B1G or SEC, where there are 2 divisions and not everyone plays each other, you can truly NOT be the best team if you are the runner-up? And you make a good point; teams don't play all the teams so a conference is the best way to narrow down the best teams across the country. Can't be the best team in your conference? Then you can't be the best in the country. I beg these SEC fans to send their overrated trash teams up north to the B1G and watch them get shit stomped year in year out by Indiana.

Notre Dame gets away with obvious pass interference for an INT.

Almost worse than Marcus Lattimore's. He took a shot to the inner thigh, just as guy was pushing on his outer hip on the same leg. It was like pushing on one side of a twig at the top and the other side at the bottom at the same time. Awful. Depending where that break is, he's done forever. You could hear him screaming on the TV and he cried the whole way on the stretcher.Ironman92;1660387 wrote:Drake just got his leg completely fucked up for Bama....damn that was nasty. I watched ONE play in this game and Stanford threw a 35 yard pass down the sideline and ND player grabbed the WR left shoulder and pulled on it as ball was coming in...ref had a bad angle and no call.Mulva;1660406 wrote:Notre Dame gets away with obvious pass interference for an INT.
That'll be the last play I watch.

ND tied with The Cardinal 7-7 in the 4th. Brian Kelly has just secured his legacy in the ND hall of fame.

Wow, one of the worst calls I've seen in a long time on the Notre Dame catch review. Makes you wonder...

Tough to think the refs didn't have an agenda there. Basically handed ND the game AFTER being allowed to look at it on replay.

Wisconsin's quarterbacks are so bad it's going to completely overshadow how good Melvin Gordon is. 259 yards for 9.6 per carry today, and they're probably going down to Northwestern.

Ole Miss about to take the lead against Alabama. They have just been doing whatever they've wanted in the passing game in the 4th quarter.

It's crazy how good Wisconsin has been over the last decade with, outside of a few players, garbage QB's and garbage WR's.

Stanford... smh. How do you give that up with 8 guys in coverage?
He was wide open the entire play.

Counted at least 5 obvious holding calls in the Notre Dame 'game winning" drive. Absolutely atrocious.
