Friend had 2 lower bowl tickets for $45 a piece to MSU/Nebraska this Saturday so I'm heading up. Should be a good game, I'm looking more forward to the Buckeyes one for the division title though next month

Pretty good article in the WSJ about the whole situation. The University's biggest donor is the guy to keep an eye on regarding influence and input. He seems to be supportive of Brandon but these are his comments about the potential coaching change.
"..." If Hoke ultimately is replaced, Ross said, "[Brandon] will look for a Michigan person that will fit Michigan. That's someone who doesn't want to win at any cost. Who plays by the rules and doesn't take shortcuts." ..."

Sounds to me like working toward a firing "for cause" to avoid paying off the contract.WebFire;1659468 wrote:Fuck that. Guess they are happy glorifying the past and being an academic school.

Yep. Nothing learned, at least from Ross. But then again, they tried the non-Michigan man with Rodriguez and then set him up to fail. They just need to hire a winner and let him do his thing.Midstate01;1659509 wrote:Wasn't that why they hired hoke???

All of this (insert school name here) Man stuff when hiring a coach just makes me laugh. Just hire the best candidate. Seems like a pretty simple concept.

If Michigan wants anyone worth a fuck they are going to have to shell out the dough.Rotinaj;1659577 wrote:All of this (insert school name here) Man stuff when hiring a coach just makes me laugh. Just PAY the best candidate. Seems like a pretty simple concept.

The criticism of the athletic director has nothing to do with this kid's concussion. That is bullcrap - just an excuse. If they were 5-0, there would be no issue whatsoever.
This'll never happen, but I think it'd be great if the regents said, "you know what, screw this big time college football model. We're done with the whole thing. We are a university that has no business being involved in semi-professional sports."

What does the next coach being a Michigan man have to do with trying to get out of Hoke's buyout?queencitybuckeye;1659642 wrote:It is exactly on point.

They're all irritating in their own way, but you're right that the First Take guys are the worst. I listen to Mad Dog Radio over ESPN and I wish Chris Russo could make it through a show without throwing some dumb, over-the-top tantrum.Classyposter58;1659841 wrote:He is. Along those lines, I don't care about OSU one way or another. Don't like them, don't hate them. But Mark May's crusade against OSU is ridiculous. College football is so popular, does ESPN need guys like him that you love to hate? Do their ratings hinge upon him acting like an ass to stir up viewers? Just put normal guys on there who can hide who they like/dislike.

Midwestern people are loyal to a fault, we all live it somehow every day I'm sure. You don't hear the "***" man argument much outside of the Midwest because most other parts of the country are actually willing to break loyalty. The south kind of does both.Rotinaj;1659577 wrote:All of this (insert school name here) Man stuff when hiring a coach just makes me laugh. Just hire the best candidate.
