I would agree. Over the last half decade or more the B1G has found itself more often than not defending itself on the national stage for a seemingly endless string of narrow wins over weak competition and embarrassing losses in high-profile games.

B1G fans know in their hearts that this is true, but they still can't help being defensive and making all sorts of excuses for the downhill slide. "Well...these things go in cycles", "The SEC is a conference of cheaters", etc.

The fact is warm weather power conferences will always attract the better talent leaving the B1G schools to fight over the "best of the rest".

And the sad thing is "the best of the rest" is basically a barely above mid-major level talent pool. This is why we're seeing some B1G schools struggle in OOC games against the MAC, C-USA, etc.

Then why is the B1G .500 against SEC teams over the last 15 years?

The reality is, the ESPN media machine has partnered with the SEC and can use that power to sway weak mindless morons into believing the SEC is somehow superior because of Alabama. Says a lot about you that you bought into it.

Again, 2 weeks is a small data point over the course of history. The Big Ten, and other conferences, have down weeks. Look at FSU, they had a down decade and they win 1 championship with a rapist at QB and all of a sudden they are world beaters.

How about the fact that damn near every team in the big ten has a losing bowl record. not to mention last years bowl season where the big ten got took its annual flogging. yea some conferences have down weeks , the big ten has been down since moby dick was a minnow. Look at FSU , they defeated everyone on their schedule which included Clemson, yes the same Clemson that speed boated OSU. Then they defeated the top SEC team for the title. when was the last time a big ten team defeated the top SEC team? keep watching the BTN maybe they will make you believe that OSU vs VaTech , MSU vs Oregon . ND vs Mich never happened. i'm sure those games wont be shown on BTN classics.

@brdispatch: TCU's Gary Patterson when asked how good his offense is: "I have no idea. We played Samford and then played a Big Ten team."

The B1G sucks. Has for quite some time.

But whatever the quote is doesn't change that the B1G stinks.

I don't disagree.

But if read the entire quote, it wasn't as much of a shot at the B1G or Minnesota as it seems.
