Interesting article on ESPN about Michigan returning to form being crucial to the B1G. I will say I believe Penn State and Nebraska are just as important but as a Buckeye fan it's beginning to lessen the rivalry a bit. I mean 41-35 since 2008 is absolutely terrible for a program like that, especially considering we've gone 63-15 in that same time span

Even without games, when OU was still on quarters no one ever had class Wednesday (or at least not many) so Tuesday was always a shitshow. Most all 4 hour classes were Tuesday Thursday, or Monday Tuesday Thursday FridaySportsAndLady;1646558 wrote:Ummm, OU would be playing a Tuesday and we would be hammered. So, yeah, sober on a Tuesday must be a bowling green thing.

Michigan is a 2nd rate program now and everyone but the Buckeyes are dragging the B1G down. We are littered with programs that were great 30 years ago but haven't even dreamed of competing nationally for a decade plus now. It is sad, but the B1G is becoming an offshoot of the rust belt.Classyposter58;1647300 wrote:Interesting article on ESPN about Michigan returning to form being crucial to the B1G. The Buckeyes can't carry the conference forever, and even they have been exposed more often than not during that time. It is a sad time for fans of football in the midwest.

I guess that's why he's a captain.

As an ND fan I'm supposed to hate anything related to USC. But you just can't hate that. Props to that kid. Hopefully he's not out too long and it doesn't bother him throughout the season. That's just a great story.Mulva;1647523 wrote:http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/college-football/story/_/id/11409177/josh-shaw-usc-two-ankle-sprains-heroic-act?ex_cid=sportscenterTW

Let's be honest if your nephew was drowning you would do the same thing. I know I would.

Everyone would like to think they would, but you never know...props to Josh Shaw, and hope he recovers quickly.sleeper;1647567 wrote:Let's be honest if your nephew was drowning you would do the same thing. I know I would.

@BruceFeldmanCFB: Hmm. RT @RHaylock Sarkisian says program has received "a few phone calls contradicting" Josh Shaw's story about saving nephew from pool.

Wouldnt be the first time an athlete has lied about how an injury has happened off the playing fieldsMidstate01;1647675 wrote:@BruceFeldmanCFB: Hmm. RT @RHaylock Sarkisian says program has received "a few phone calls contradicting" Josh Shaw's story about saving nephew from pool.

True. But this one involves making up a story where you become some sort of hero..and you involved family.thavoice;1647677 wrote:Wouldnt be the first time an athlete has lied about how an injury has happened off the playing fields

Oh I agree...this one goes further that is for sure! Will be interesting who originated the story..himself or a buddy and they thought it would stay internal!Midstate01;1647678 wrote:True. But this one involves making up a story where you become some sort of hero..and you involved family.

Weird, I ALMOST posted that something didn't seem right with that story. But then I really had no good reason to, and figured I'd be called an asshole for saying it.

What's really weird is, there isn't a financial motive like there would be with a pro. It's not like they can cut his pay if he's getting hurt playing another sport or something. Maybe a loan shark broke his ankles.

Embarrassment maybe. I know when I hurt my foot kicking the wall in junior high I made up some stupid story!Azubuike24;1647686 wrote:What's really weird is, there isn't a financial motive like there would be with a pro.
