You're talking about Oxford, right? If you can't/couldn't find "shit to do" there, especially as a college student, then that's a "you" issue, not a Miami one.IggyPride00;1648279 wrote:Have you ever been there? The greatest spectator sport known to man begins tonight - All Hail College Football! While the 4 team play-off is not perfect, it is 100% better than the BCS and this could be CFB's greatest season ever. The chances for the Buckeyes to be part of that inaugural foursome took a huge hit last week but it didn't kill it. Somebody has to remove Jameson Winston's knees or entrap him with another white chick before the end of the season. I like the Sooners to take it all this year...anybody but the SEC.

People bitched about the BCS but it did do one thing.......pit the #1 and #2 teams together for a NC game. Before that.......the top two teams rarely met in the final game.
The means may have been messed up at times like a 2 loss team making the championship over 1 loss teams, but it ultamately was better at crowning a champ than before.
WIth the 4 team system it will be pretty cool, but I think it wont help teams make their schedules any better. If you are from a BCS conference and finished undefeated...you will be in the final 4 playoff so why try to schedule a tough NC game?

..and I question that it is the greatest spectator sport..... Too many mismatches in CFB. I will take any random NFL game over any random CFB game any dayTiernan;1648389 wrote:The greatest spectator sport known to man begins tonight - All Hail College Football! College over NFL for me, easily. The lack of parity doesn't really bother me, makes for some great games at times, upsets, etc. I also like college offenses more.

No comparison for passion & commitment btwn college and the NFL which could evolve into the NGBA* if they don't watch it

Very excited for the games tonight, but more so excited for Saturday.
Anyone making the trip to Baltimore for the opening game? Ticket prices have dropped to like $37 on stubhub, which makes it about the same price for tickets + gas as it would be to go see OSU vs Kent St in the shoe. Very tempting. I wonder why there is so low of interest in making that 6 hour road trip on an extended weekend to catch the first game of the year. O-H!

Damn, that is cheap. I had the chance to go but nixed it. I had friends in for most of last week and it was exhausting. I just want to kick back on my couch and sip beers all damn day.

SEC Defense my ass.
Another example of Preseason Polls being meaningless.
How the hell are they 9?

I think SEC defense is a misnomer. It's more like Alabama and LSU defense. Btw watching Ole Miss/Boise St and I hate how coaches try to defend their players and yell at officials after a targeting call. Guy lead with his head came off his feet and just drilled the Boise QB, that's an ejection every time and should be
