This was just said to NOT BE the final answer.....just said on ESPN the Big 12 would just have to apply for a special waiver to have a championship game and more than likely would be approved.

Their league structure (10 teams, all teams play each other once) works out very well to crown a true champ. They just need to ensure they set up some big match-ups at the end of the season, or really pad their wins early on.

If either Baylor of TCU had a win over another top 10-15 team in the non-conference, I guarantee they would be getting more consideration than they are, because Ohio State's body of work isn't great at all.
Won't matter next year....8 teams

I don't see it. Houston is an old SWC school. It's the biggest market in the state. Sure, there are other Texas teams, but the arguments for Houston vs Cincinnati are the same. Cincinnati is a pro market with solid HS football. Houston is the same...with more tradition and more geographical ties. I guess you could make an argument for both of them and not Boise. UC would have a geographical rivalry with WVU, where nobody else does. Houston would have the same with Texas.

So you are proving that my post was accurate? It is still a rule unless a waiver is submitted....

I honestly cannot decide what I would do if I was on the committee. With OSU's ass-kicking of Wiscy last night, it's hard to imagine leaving them out. On the other hand, I have a hard time leaving out #3 who won by 52 points, even if it was a bad team.

The other thing that makes me pause about TCU is that they are 4-1 against top 25 (at the time they played opponents) with the only loss to #5. OSU is 2-0 with only loss to non-ranked VTech. Honestly at this point this is the ONLY thing that makes me think twice about dropping TCU in favor of OSU.

Be interesting to see what happens. But really, damn that win for OSU was impressive and came at the right time. I think OSU gets in.

Yeah....I was dumb for saying the BIg 12 should have a championship and you asked me how dumb I was because I didn't know they weren't allowed because of the rules.

So you can be right on the rule....but like I was right in the first place. So now I'm not dumb....I'm lucky.

Notre Dame vs. LSU in the Music City Bowl on 12/30.

I'm going to say LSU by at least 17 in that one. And no sleeper, I will not enjoy this bowl loss.

LSU is pretty terrible. Wouldn't surprise me to see ND only lose by 14.

The injuries to ND's defense will be what does them in. I'm predicting at least 3 Everett Golson turnovers, and ND's defense won't be able to stop anything. It will be an ugly one.

It's sounding like Cincinnati will play Va Tech in the Military Bowl at the U.S. Naval Academy.

I thought they changed the name of the Military Bowl to the Snooze Bowl.

They might as well engrave the trophy with Mariota's name...it won't even be close.

Saw on Twitter that it will likely be the biggest differential ever, which is currently held by Troy Smith. Ironically it could be because of what Ohio State did to Melvin Gordon on Saturday.

I may be the only one, but I love bowl season. There's football on all the time. The more the merrier I say, because in a couple of weeks there won't be any more until next year.

I agree. The most meaningless college football bowl is better than a lot of the alternatives when it comes to sports viewing during the winter. Until conference season starts, the vast majority of CBB games can be dud match-ups, while regular season NBA and NHL is an exercise in tedium.
