Every league could come together and keep their schedules the same and forbid their players from participating in non-club activities. Fifa would be pretty quickly change the location.

But, that wont happen.

Im just pissed for my own reasons. Who the fuck wants to watch the WC in the heart of the NFL Season, end of CFB, during start of NBA/NHL/NCAA BBK?? Just sucks as a USA resident.

Somewhat related (US World Cup talk) I was killing some time today and went to the local Ross (for those unfamiliar it's almost identical to a TJ Maxx) and found this guy for $25. Still had the $150 retail tag attached

Sucks for Fox, assuming no radical changes to the NFL/their NFL coverage by that point. Although I'd imagine start times will be similar to EPL saturday games now... like 8 and 11 AM EST. So maybe they'll be able to cut straight from WC to 1 PM football.

Stop, you are over the World Cup going to Qatar. You are not allowed to discuss it.

I don't see why FIFA would want to sacrifice the US market. No way the NFL/CFB will take a back seat to soccer in the heart of their seasons.

I said I'm over being upset about it. It's the World Cup. I will watch regardless of when or where it gets played.

Clubs really don't have a choice. If you don't let players go on international call ups then they face fines from FIFA.

Thats fucking awesome! I've never been to a Ross and only first noticed them when I moved down south. I might have to go check out a Ross to see if they have one lol.

As for Qatar I'm with Laley. That's fine if they want to have it in Qatar whatever I'm over them choosing to play their but if they change the schedule to make the WC be played in winter I won't ever get over that fuck that shit. It completely fucks with every soccer league and is in one of the best times of the year for sports.

They had an Argentina one too that I picked up for my friend. You should definitely look.

Kinda hard to be a Crew fan when you live in Columbus and can't even watch the games.

Of course the USA has drawn the toughest group in the Gold Cup (imo).

USA
Panama
Haiti
Honduras (likely) or French Guinea

Based on their TV contract, I boycott all things Crew now.

Sad since I have been an ardent supporter since the very first game.

Tough to actually do that, for me. If it were the only TV contract available...why not? It's not like there's many going to the games (I know what's advertised, but I've been there). They've had a lot of backlash -- and rightfully so -- but, it's not like MLS has overwhelming support through television media all around. I don't blame them for signing the deal, but I also don't know what else was out there.

MLS has been all over TV so far and will continue to be. FoxSports, ESPN and Univision. Yet the crew sign an exclusive deal with TWC. Why not FoxSports Ohio which everyone has? I mean how many people in Columbus even have Time Warner? When you shut out local fans they'll be lucky to grow the fan base at all. I wouldn't be surprised if they are moved in the future.
