Saine is still the biggest disappointment. I thought he was going to pwn after seeing him play in HS.
You saw him play in HS? If you did, you would have known he was overrated.

Did you play against him? I can't remember when he graduated. I heard he was a stud in HS, but never got to watch him.

Yeah my buddy's cousin played against him and told me how dominate he was. Then when I found out he was going to OSU I started catching replays of his games, etc...

His highlight tape is best I've seen.

Saine was more of a stud on the track.

Griffin
George
Spielman
Pace

I have been to one track meet in my life to see my buddy from hs run. And he was going up against saine. Guy was so fucking fast.

I too thought saine was going to be awesome at OSU. Womp womp.

I had a friend who played football with Saine at Piqua and always talked him up even when he got to the Packers in the NFL lol I believe he graduated in 2007. Dude was definitely fast I remember watching him at state track meets and everyone that I knew who had saw him play football in HS all told me he would be a stud RB at OSU.

I like Ironman's Mount Rushmore list. My 3 for sure are Griffin, Pace, and George.

I only saw him play once in HS, in the '06 state title game against Pickerington Central. He had like 190 yards and 3 tds in the first half including TD runs of 50+ and 80+. Definitely not overrated in that game.

Fun fact, I had class with Brandon Saine. He is a terrible public speaker, probably only slightly above the Chinese folks with English as their second language.

While I don't disagree with Orlando Pace, can someone provide an explanation as to why you would list him as one of the 4 greatest to ever don the scarlet and gray?

He blew the national title game IMO. Joe Germaine better as was Bobby Hoyng IMO. Rex Kern could be on that list as could Cornelius Green. Art Schlichter another.

The players you listed would never make OSU in the modern era. They would play for some MAC school at best.

I put him there because some would argue he's the greatest ever at his position.

But I do agree with your Chic Harley reasoning too.

So, a guy who couldn't even become a pure starter at Ohio State until his final year and never played for a title due to the Bucks always choking against one Michigan team or another during his time is better than a dude with a great career who happened to suck ass in a national championship game?

Even though I vehemently disagree, assume you're right. He's still the first QB since Tippy Dye to go 3-0 vs Michigan, and those were some good Michigan teams where we weren't always the favorite. That, along with winning the Heisman and leading us to the national championship game, is enough to vault him over the names you listed.

Not to mention the offensive line is what blew the FLA game and we lost our best receiver on play 1 of the game. But whatever.

Ughhh yeah. Troy was ass, but you can't blame the that entire debacle on him. Got schooled in all facets, coaching included.

Correct. But he was the leader of the team. And I said from the time he got in trouble at OSU, that OSU will never win a title with him behind center. Just my opinion.

Germain not starting his junior year was pure bullshit coaching and also cost OSU. He was head and shoulders above Jackson. Cooper, like the idiot he was many times, wouldn't do what he should have done and most thought he should have done.
And even at that, he had better career stats than Smith, threw for 800 more yds than Smith did during seniors years, more career TD's and mroe passing yards. And this while not being a full time starter. Certainly can give Smith the Michigan games...but sorry, considering someone this and that over 3 games and overlooking a career is just stupid.
Germain was probably the best pure passer to ever play at QB for OSU.

Tough to lead when you've got 4 guys in your face .5 seconds after every fucking snap.

lol also we now know we have to take his Smith inclusion, or lack thereof I should say, with a gigantic grain of salt because of his personal bias against Smith.

Smith would be 4th string on this year's team. If he beat out Stephen Collier.

People are quick to hate on Smith, but he was a hell of a player.

What about that total CLOWNSTOMPING of Notre Dame? It was fucking glorious.

Waiting for reps from sleeper for the use of clownstomp and ND in the same sentence.

Would have been even better if you had said the bold as well.
