I don't either, more wear and tear on him but from an Ohio State standpoint it keeps JT Barretts starter and leader status intact and gives Ohio State a serious weapon. Still don't see Miller returning though, think it's in his best interest to move on.WebFire;1645762 wrote:I'm not sure what he would gain from this.

Sucks for Miller.
Sucks for this year.
Sets the team up to be ready to kick major ass from the beginning of next season.

I imagine he would use a medical redshirt if he misses the whole season. If he doesnt then I am not sure what draft stock he has at all. If he does come back I bet Urban would be more than welcome to have him lead the team in 2015. CFB is less about building for the future like the NFL is. If Meyer believes next season that Miller gives them the better shot to win it all, even if it means sitting the starter from this season for a year, he will do it, and I probably would as well.

@SIPeteThamel: SOURCE: OSU's Braxton Miller has a torn labrum in right (throwing) shoulder. Will miss season. http://t.co/KovLkvpm3A
So basically the surgery did nothing.

So I'm guessing it was partially torn, fixed, then rushed back?
I have a torn labrum in my shoulder right now. I'm just putting off surgery because I was able to alleviate the pain with PT. I've heard the surgery to repair is minor, but recovery is a bitch.

Labrums are extremely hard to repair and even harder to rehab. No way will he ever take a snap again - college or NFL. Sucks... But move forward Buckeye Nation and support the new guy...it's far from a lost season.

I have to say... I ventured over to MGoBlog expecting that I would vomit with their giddy & excitement, but in reality I was quite surprised with the level of empathy and sentiments that seemed to be the overwhelming majority. Sure there were your typical vomit garbage, but most were pretty decent posts.Midstate01;1645735 wrote:I've actually had my Michigan buddies being pretty classy about it saying they feel bad for him. The throwing motion is what is painful from a Labrum tear. But I've seen RBs, DBs and WRs compete and play well with this injury. Who knows...Miller is a hell of an athlete, could he play another position?

OSU, finally, makes it official.
Brax says he wants to come back and lead the team next year. On course to graduate in December and plans to attend graduate school.

I think Braxton's days as QB are probably done. No way you can trust that shoulder again.
But, if he comes back next year and acts as a hybrid type alongside Barrett, that could be a pretty powerful tandem.

This is what I'm thinking. Braxton, Ezekiel Elliott, and Dontre Wilson. Those are some weapons right there.HelloAgain;1645815 wrote:I think Braxton's days as QB are probably done. No way you can trust that shoulder again.

If we're looking at the silver lining, he may actually have a better chance at an NFL career as a hybrid offensive weapon than as an actual QB, even if fully healthy.Terry_Tate;1645816 wrote:This is what I'm thinking. Braxton, Ezekiel Elliott, and Dontre Wilson. Those are some weapons right there.

I didn't have high expectations for the season to begin with, so it doesn't change my thoughts on the outcome. With Miller not being able to throw all offseason, nothing would make me think his passing would be good enough to beat the kind of teams you would have to beat to win a championship. I expect Barrett to be very much a Kenny Guiton type player, and still get this team to 9-10 wins.

Yea, Braxton had zero chance at being a QB in the NFL prior to this injury, his only option to play in the NFL is at a different posistion.HelloAgain;1645817 wrote:If we're looking at the silver lining, he may actually have a better chance at an NFL career as a hybrid offensive weapon than as an actual QB, even if fully healthy.

Mostly because we've become ND before ND has even had a chance to become ND. I mean usually after week 1, ND is talking about next year when they'll have a chance at doing anything relevant and now the season hasn't even started and OSU is already talking about next year. Shit's fucked up.Ytowngirlinfla;1645733 wrote:Sleeper is about to hang himself.

I disagree. If Manziel, Tebow, and Quinn can be drafted in round 1 despite being complete trash, Braxton should have a good chance at going #1 overall and being in the league more than 3 years.se-alum;1645819 wrote:Yea, Braxton had zero chance at being a QB in the NFL prior to this injury, his only option to play in the NFL is at a different posistion.

Ohio State is always a 10 win team. Anything less than 10 wins, Urban needs to find a new job.se-alum;1645818 wrote:I didn't have high expectations for the season to begin with, so it doesn't change my thoughts on the outcome. The reality is OSU should have a top 5 defense next year and still plenty of weapons on offense. This JT kid isn't a scrub and neither is the rest of the skill positions. The problem is, its not often you have a non-rapist freshman QB win a title.

Who has had a labrum repair and been fine after? Honest question, I don't know.
I know it's a common injury with swimmers and they can come back and still perform, but obviously that's an apples to oranges comparison.

Doubt anyone will be making that mistake again. Also really wouldn't define Tebow's NFL stay as a "career."ccrunner609;1645829 wrote:Tebow?

I know this doesn't answer the "and been fine after" part... but to answer the "who has had a labrum repair" part... Mark Sanchez, Blaine Gabbert, Nick Foles. Nick Foles might be the best "and been fine after" example.Automatik;1645827 wrote:Who has had a labrum repair and been fine after? Honest question, I don't know.

I agree with this. The guy is a great athlete...his best position may be running back or wide receiver.Tiernan;1645798 wrote:The throwing motion is what is painful from a Labrum tear.
