Great point. If there is this consensus "super star QB" next year, do you think the team that is in a position to draft him and completely change their franchise around is just going to want to trade out of that position? Also, do you think other teams looking for a QB aren't going to try and trade up? They're just going to let the browns take care of that?

Lol for Christ sakes zwick pull your head out of your ass. We have the 4th overall pick and there seems to be 3 very capable QBs in this draft that we are in a position to draft. No more fucking around at the QB position and just draft one of them.

Not saying this year's class is outstanding, but no way can you say next year's is far and away better.
Don't forget Winston might not come out. I'm not sold on mariotta. I actually think Hundley could be the best of the bunch.

When did the Watkins at #4 talk start and why? I haven't heard shit about Cleveland taking him until yesterday when my roommates brought it up.

Because he tore up OSU in his last game so his stock is really high. And just imagine him, a super star, paired up with josh Gordon, a super star! Super Bowl in Cleveland!!!!!

Plus, who says the browns would even be in position to draft him next year if he did come out? There are alot of teams out there worse off than the browns who will put together a stellar 2-4 win season and be salivating to draft him, and I see the browns drafting more in the 16-18 spot next year.

no way he runs from the money.. he's already got a NC. Nothing more to prove.

B/c he's the best offensive player in the draft. Period.

So you want to take the chance to trade 3 first round picks for a guy that said he won't be coming out after next season? Got it.

I concur.
Unless something happens next seasonlike playing horrible. and he needs to play another season to regain his draft status then I believe he leaves.

No one would trade 3 first round picks. Quit being silly.

That precedent has been set. The team with the first pick, if they even wanna trade out, will ask for that, at least. If teams won't do it, they'll simply draft Winston.

I do think he will be a stud in the NFL, regardless of who he plays for. I just don't think taking him at 4 would be in Cleveland's best interest, but that's just me. I said I'd take Teddy B from the beginning and I'm sticking with it!

My point is you're banking on a crop of QB's who not one is screaming "draft me, I'm your franchise!" It's not any of a safer pick than going with Watkins.

You don't remember the redskins trading 3 first round picks for a QB that wasn't even the best in his class?

Then more power to them. There's always going to be QB classes like this one. And the browns aren't a QB away from winning it all.. especially with these QB's

With that logic we should always wait until next year to get a QB. No one is saying drafting a rookie QB will ascend the browns to the SB in one year. You eventually have to draft a legitimate QB prospect and groom him though.

I'm sticking with Bridgewater as well. I prefer Bortles, but think he'll be first QB off the board, and probably the #1 pick.

Schefty reporting Ben Tate is meeting with the browns right now.

No by that logic we need to get the right QB

I take Bridgewater at 4 if Watkins is gone.

Bortles makes me leery as a one hit wonder. He does seem to have a tremendous ceiling though.

Who do you think would possibly take Watkins before 4? Highly doubt that happens.

I doubt it does either but detroit has expressed interest in trading up for him.

Bortles last two years at UCF were good, he's not a one hit wonder.

He had better numbers his senior year which is when everyone started talking about him though.
