Didn't the Colts switch to the 3-4?

How do you sign a player before fa starts?

If think released players can sign with a team as soon as they want.

Because he was released wasn't a playerwith a contract expiring to become a FA. He was cut/released, I'm pretty sure thats the way it works.

Saw a link on the OBR that the Browns did NOT attend Garapollo's pro day. Wonder what Farmer has up his sleeve? They didn't formally interview any of the QBs at the combine, now not attending pro days. This shall be interesting.

That makes sense and is what I assumed. But I wasn't sure.

Farmer has already said pro days and combines mean nothing to him regarding qb's unless there are huge red flags during the interview process. He basically said game film does all the talking and he already has his qb pick. I personally like that way of thinking

Could be possible he's not really sold on any of the QB's in this draft, and doesn't want to anger the fan base and telling them that.

And after the draft can just say the QB he really wanted was gone.

Ah, didn't hear that. But totally agree, I love the game film over pro days and combine. I hate this time of year, except FA.

This x1000000. I think the overall quality of most teams' drafts would be at least as good if not better if they shitcanned the underwear olympics and had the draft two weeks after the Super Bowl.

I agree about getting rid of the combine with one exception: I'd keep it for the players who went to programs that aren't having a pro day. The combine is essentially replicated at pro days, so the only real benefit of it is to showcase players who otherwise wouldn't be able to showcase themselves in front of scouts.

Bill Barnwell on Grantland had a good article about the combine.

I wouldn't want him for anything more than a 3rd down back. He's getting up there in age, and really showed some regression this past season in his durability and burst. It would have to be on a team-friendly deal for me to be interested.

Why sign Sproles when we have the mighty Deon Lewis coming back... Have we compared their college stats yet?

Anyone else feel like this free agent pool is stacked? I don't know that I've seen so many above average players available in a while. There may not be many superstars, but there are a ton of guys with pro bowl experience or potential that I'd love for us to take a run at. Problem is, I'm sure other teams are too, and it seems like no one ever wants to come to Cleveland :RpS_bored:

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Browns, Raiders and Jets would be interested in Matt Schaub "if (when)" he is released.

Ill take Schaub as long as it costs us both of our first rounders and Haden.

Why?

Deon Lewis is pretty much a top 3 RB in the NFL.

I'm ok with Schaub. He's not the long term answer, but he'd be a good 1-2 year stop gap along with Hoyer if we've decided as an organization that they like someone better in the later rounds (Murray, the Kid from LSU, Garrapola, Carr)

Schaub and good never belong in the same sentence, even as a stop gap.

I want some of what you're smoking... I suppose you'd be alright with Derek Anderson coming back to town too?
