Ugly game so far for both teams offensively. 19-15 at half Orrville on top. Orrville called for 7 fouls to Northwesterns 1 in first half.

Halftime: Orrville 19 Northwestern 15

Orrville's winning, so the refs must be calling a good game.

Another WCAL opponent...another win.

4-0 vs WCAL
7-0 vs county schools

Wont mean anything unless we win district though....sadly.

Last loss vs a WCAL team in tourney play was 1994 vs Norwayne. Sure hope it's not this year....but we'll have a big target on us as always.

A win is a win. Ugly or otherwise keep up the winning and all will fall into place.

I noticed some HS kids (in the WCAL)trying to justify the losses by saying they were close games and that is not RTR. All I have to say is Win baby Win!

RTR is about winning, not doing it by a certain # of points.

Funny coming from a kid whose dad made his name as a coach at Orrville. He oughta know....

That was the main one I saw too. Probably should be careful what you post on twitter for everybody but especially as a HS kid that can sometimes not use the best judgment. I for one am glad it did not exist when I was young. It is something that is looked at by employers now and anything that can put up a red flag...

I think the target just got bigger thanks to Mr. Dorksen and his article today that called us the "unofficial" WCAL champs. That article will be pinned up in every WCAL lockerroom.

1994 District Final vs. Norwayne @ Smithville....I remember it like it was yesterday. Norwayne had a nice team there in the mid-90's with Piatt, Gasser, Rupp, Wolfe, Winkler, Coffey. I believe they lost the following game in the regional-semi.

The district final the year after (95') at the Fieldhouse was a classic! Great game and even better atmosphere. I recall coming out for the shoot around before we even had our warm-ups on and the place was filling up. That was about 2 hrs before tip-off. I have played in and watched many games at the Fieldhouse, but I recall that game as one of the loudest atmospheres I had ever played in.

That was a solid Norwayne team some good names on that list...

I believe Dorksen would do something like that on purpose to put pressure on Orrville.

Red bracket, blue bracket, his bracket, her bracket..................... Norwayne... Smithville........... Who cares! It's just about tournament time fellas!!!! What an amazing time for these young men. ANYTHING can happen in one game and that is why the pressure put in these young men in this atmosphere is BIG and so fun to watch. I have always loved to see what happens when IT REALLY MATTERS! Good luck riders! Run red run! Old Rider - I remember playing agains Piatt and those guys over at the Wayndale open gyms in the summer and they would always come and play at Orr park in the summer. Those kids could play!

We complain when we don't get coverage & when we do, it's an ulterior motive.

The target is always on us.

I think this group may have gotten a big head. Maybe herd us all trying to give them a pat on the back. Time to get back to work!

I am guessing the boys just want to get started with the tournement. These last couple of games have absolutely no meaning.

Old Rider,

I agree with you. These last 2 games mean absolutely nothing. I'm not a big fan of the 22 game schedule. Too bad the tourney draws are done so early because it makes the end of season a "drag." Basketball season is a long already and by this time kids are already tired of practicing!

The last couple games do make a difference in conference standings. CF , Lex and us are still deciding 3-5th place in the conference. May come down to us and lex this weekend. Even if it doesn't mean anything, you still want to have momentum going into the tournament.

I agree with momentum to the tournament...but weather you are 3rd or 5th in the conference does not mean anything IMO.

I heard at tonight's game that the WCAL coaches voted TS from Norwayne District Player of the Year over Orrville's Summers. Is this true? If so....what a joke IMO. Summers is hands down the POY in this District. This a definitely an example of the non-respect the WCAL Coaches have for Orrville Athletics and the OCC Conference. To make it even worse Summers isn't even an alternate to the North-South game......they voted a Smithville player. does the Player of the Year have to come from the 1 seed? Pitman can you confirm any of this? I believe you were there? Anyone else hear this? Agree or dis-agree?

Have not seen Norwayne kid play enough to know for sure. Pitman would be the one that would probably have that info.

However, this is another chip on the shoulder boys!!

If this is true...what a joke!

I saw Tyson Stoudmire play and yes, he is a nice player. However, he doesnt play near the competition that Summers (occ) plays and he averages about 6 pts less. Keep giving us reasons to play with a chip on the shoulder...I think these boys will respond when this tourney gets started!

Player A: 18.2 pts/gm, 46.2% from 3, 74.5% FT - vs D1/2 sked
Player B: 13.1 pts/gm, 37.7% from 3, 65.3% FT vs D3/4 sked
Player C: 16.3 pts/gm, 30% from 3, 73% FT, 4 asts/gm vs D3/4 sked

Who's your player of the year among those 3? If team results are a factor, Player A's team beat Player B & Player C's teams head to head.

Joke indeed. I sometimes wonder if people forget Orrville is a D-3 team since we play such a heavy D1/2 schedule.

WCAL fans can't comprehend those stats...that is why you see player B win player of the year. Simple really. WCAL hates Orrville and we hate them because they don't play up and think they could play our schedule. LMAO!

RedRider1,

When the voting took place........Player A was shooting over 50% from the field and 50% from 3 point range. Those offensive stats are off the charts for someone who is on the perimeter and is the other teams focus. I hope our guys do carry this boulder on the shoulder and prove the District Title still goes through us. He put on another shooting clinic last night against a team who is head and shoulders above any WCAL team and they have a losing record in the OCC. This is a total JOKE! NO QUESTION! It would be interesting to know if any WCAL coach voted for Summers or did they all get the same memo to vote for the Norwayne Kid?

just curious why your coach did not vote for you guys to be a one seed? if everyone feels they are better than the rest of the country and district teams shouldn't he have voted for you guys as a one seed, even if it was the only vote?
