This year was so far from Wade's most efficient year it's laughable. He was more efficient, statistically, even last year.

His FG% was the highest of his career, but all of his numbers per 48 numbers were lows. Also, it's hard to justify a player by "efficiency" but then see that he missed almost 40% of the season and was absent in some of the biggest games.

If a player misses a lot of time, the only way I can even form a coherent opinion about them is their per 48 numbers. And you correctly they were low, very low for him, but especially in the context of Robj's claim this was his most efficient year ever lol.

Huh? I was talking in terms of shooting the ball.

Yeah, but again, his FGA went from 18.2 (his first year w/LeBron) to 14.1. His MPG were down and he missed 29 games. I mean, you always want higher percentages, but IMO, give me a guy who shoots 50% and does so taking 18 shots a game versus 54% and 14 shots per game.

Since his first year with "the big three", Wade's numbers are on a steady decline.

So his true shooting and effective field goal percentages are career highs, and every single other advanced metric is down, including his turnover percentage which skyrocketed.

Do you see why I have a problem with you saying it's the most efficient year of his career?

No problem with that but he also is averaging way less minutes and is taking less and less shots each year. People are overreacting acting like he can't play still, he just fell apart in the finals. Every team in the league would take a guy who averages 19,5 and 4 on 55% shooting from the field and only 14 shot attempts. Shame the injuries have hindered him.

His role has lessened also, which is a huge factor in it and well as injuries. Still a premier player in the league.

When I think of Premier I think like top 25( one of the OC's favorite NBA lists) and I dont think theres any way in hell Wade is up there in elite company anymore. Hes falling apart, literally

His role has decreased because he is no longer elite. It goes hand in hand.

19, 5 and 4 on 55% shooting on a team where he has to be unselfish and share the load with two other stars, not sure what else you could ask for honestly. People just can't get the finals performance out of their heads and it is clouding their judgement.

He fell apart in the finals because he finally had to play every game. You arent elite if you have to sit on the bench 50% of the time.

And how unselfish was he when Lebron first came over? Not like this, because he wasnt this shot...times have changed.

If Robj is right, then Wade would still finish in a solid position in win shares per 48, which helps account for the statistical noise that is him missing games due to injury and general breaking apart.

The result? He finished 54th, around vaunted luminaries such as Isaiah Thomas, Samuel Dalembert, and George Hill.

To be fair, this stat skews higher minute players towards the middle, but Wade doesn't fit that exception this year.

I think it was a combination of things, he realized that for this team to do anything Lebron had to be the man. Also realized that Lebron is just a lot better than he is so it made sense to pass the torch. I mean if he just chucked it up 8 more times a game he would average 26-28 ppg and he would be James Harden or Carmelo Anthony, both of whom are considered elite players even though they play no defense.

You're more into those numbers than I am, I'm just looking at production on the court based on when he was out there. Isn't per 36 considered a better gauge anyway?

I think it was ONE THING. Lebron needed help in the finals against a team that made them work on both ends (unlike Indy), Wade COULDN'T deliver because he BROKE DOWN and IS NO LONGER ELITE.

Any other conclusion is misguided. Your conclusion is even more than misguided, it's delusional.
