But bad luck for the guy - just when things are looking up like he could be shacking up with two decent looking sisters...I mean, that's every guy's zombie apocalypse fantasy.
agreed. I almost fell asleep.

I totally lost interest like 15 mins in, I told my husband it was really boring. I think next weeks episode is all about the governor also. Please make it at least someone interesting.

Best episode of the season, by far. Although I don't understand the singular focus - maybe saving money when a character doesn't appear in an episode?

Also two, maybe three, of the coolest scenes they've ever done. But I can't figure out the "rules" - how does a severed head survive without food/fat, and I guess oxygen is not required, either.

Next week is going to be intense!

really? were you drunk while watching? the only reason I didn't fall asleep like last week's episode was because I was so mad it was another shitty episode.

I don't give a shit about the governor and his predictable return to power.

and what exactly were the cool scenes?

I don't care for the governor, either, but that was so much better written and better character development than the slop we usually get. I'm just tired of the prison - it's become very stale. I'd also say the governor is one of the better actors on the show. Interesting the way they brought him full-circle but with a rather different mindset/purpose - psychotic, but rational. You knew something was off with him and I'm not sure what I expected, but not that.

I thought the zombie in the water was really cool, along with the horde stuck in the muck. Runner-up to the severed heads still chomping.

Yeah tonight was awesome, need more episodes like this. A ton of things will change after tonight's episode, whole new dynamic to the show.

I'm glad they're done with the prison FINALLY. 2nd half of the season is so much more promising now.

Kind of sad to see Herschel go - his character had really gotten more compelling. Maybe my 4th favorite after Darryl, Meshone, and Rick.

I have a feeling Rick and Carl are going to get picked-up by Carol. And somehow I suspect the baby isn't actually dead. No worries - Carl and the rat-girl are going to give birth to Rambo.

Darryl is awesome, but that was a little bit of a superhuman super-soldier performance. Meshone, too, with her Mr. Magoo performance.

Death. Lots of it. Herschel, Governor, Governor's new daughter, most all of the Governor's clan and some zombies.

Best episode in the history of the show. Now the character development the last few weeks makes sense...still drug out way too long...but it makes sense. I've heard that the second half of Season 4 will bring some excitement. Should be interesting, they're out of the prison, the Governor plot is gone...they can start fresh and rejuvenate the show.

Was it just me, or did anyone else notice zombie Lori at the end? It can't be the character Lori, but I swear it was the same actress.

I agree....Maybe my favorite episode yet (in the entire series). The last few weeks weren't great, but it was all set up pretty well. I don't think the baby is dead. I think the chick that was banging the governor will end up playing a huge roll in Rick and Carl's survival.

Great episode. I think episode 1 will always remain my favorite though. I don't think I ever wanted a TV character to die as much as I did when the governor chopped Hershels head off.

I also watched Talking Dead afterwards and they had Hershel and Maggie on. Maggie was pretty hot. She was pretty emotional about Hershel leaving.

Soooooo.......the prison is done anyway, and Herschel is dead.

Good decision, Rick.

Awesome episode which is why the earlier episodes were needed to lay the foundation but those with an IQ below 100 would have a hard time seeing it. Best show on tv only rivaled by Hell on wheels.

Ehhh, the last two episodes (and I really liked the last one) could easily have been 1 show. And what did they really set-up when the governor ended up being who we thought he was? "Oh look, the governor might be a good guy now....nope still a psychopath".

Minor nitpick - I thought it was kind of odd, almost surreal, the way they killed his new daughter (by that I mean the mom carrying the dead body to him). Maybe it was supposed to be some moment of great irony or tragedy but it fell completely flat.

I grew to like Herschel. Hopefully a few of the new characters introduced will develop but can't say I'm a fan of any them right now. Although the two female Carl's could be interesting.

Also I'm hoping the virus mutates somehow, either to animals or the zombies getting more intelligent. A sort of vampire virus where the person isn't dead but craves flesh would be cool. The whole anarchy of survivors vs. survivors is just played out, and the zombies are now basically a complete joke without big numbers.

yeah its time to get back to the zombies. the first season and such were about escaping the zombies, then it turned into escaping each other. lets find out the zombies have started to gather and travel in hordes etc.

Zombies aren't a huge problem when you're in a big group, well armed and surrounded by the security of a prison. I'd venture to say that they're about to become a pretty big problem again.
