I saw they are wearing T-Shirts with the phrase "unfinished business" relating to last year. Probably explains why they didn't add to the roster at all, they figure this group underachieved last year and will reach their potential this year.

And keep us all hanging in there.

I am sure there is some kind of plan as far as making sure they maximize his time in the minors before the service time clock starts, but I would love to see a guy like that on the big league club. Only 20 years old he would bring alot of energy to this team.

Probably trade him at the deadline for a bucket of new baseballs.

I don't see Lindor making the club this spring even if he tears the cover off the ball....but I agree, he'll be up before the end even if it's only in September. If he does do well, Druby will be gone before the end of the year.

Physically lindor is ready. I think he will be up by May unless drubs absolutely kills it this year

Personally I think the more Drubs is killing it, the more likely Lindor will be on our roster come July. Between Lindor to fill AC's void and Paulino to fill Lindor's, we would want Drubs to be playing as well as possible so we can get more value in a trade.

If he is playing well and the tribe are winning I don't see them trading drubs at this time. It just gives them the option to develop lindor a bit more in the minors.

If you're right, that means that ownership will let him walk at the end of the year for nothing. Fat chance.

That is a good point. I could also see them moving him to 3rd base possibly too if they decide to keep him. But I fully expect him to play decent and then get traded.

I haven't given enough thought to the numbers that this would entail, but this is my best case scenario: play well enough to up his trade value but not well enough that if Lindor replaces him, and he goes through rookie bumps, it won't significantly affect our playoff chances (whereas it might if Drubs was killing it, and then Lindor comes in and struggles).

Perhaps somewhere in the (full season stats) .285, .340, .415; 70 RBIs; 18-20 HR range?

They let Ubaldo and Kazmir walk, so I don't think they will necessarily trade him no matter how good Lindor looks. He is still an unproven quantity.

Their first priority is to get to postseason, and unless trading Druby helps them do it, they won't trade him just to bring Lindor up. If Cabrera is hitting the shit out of the ball he'll be in a Tribe uni until the end of the season....but if he is just doing ok, and they think Lindor can do just as well, as Crimson streak says,...they'll trade him

I tried to approximate using his two best years what kind of production I think would be optimal for my plan. Lindor is capably of replacing the OBP, if not surpassing it, and that would be the most important thing for our lineup, IMO.

ESPN baseball writer David Schoenfield's blog has a column up on how the Mets should make a play for Cabrera, and that we should be fast tracking Lindor to the majors this season.

I am torn on the issue in a way, because I hate the idea of just trading him at the start of the season. At the same time, if he has a really good year he is gone. There is no way unless the season has gone to hell that we would trade him at the deadline if we were in contention.

Being a Tribe fan is so freaking hard when guys reach their walk year because we all know the reality of the situation that we can't sign guys, but we also want to win games. You almost have to root for guys to have mediocre years so we can even have a shot at retaining them, but that doesn't help us on the field at all.

Also another thing to point out is lindor rarely strikes out. I could be wrong but it believe he went like 10 games when called up to AA with out striking out.

Also a good sign from Bauer on his Sunday performance was he hitting 96-98 on his fastball.

No matter what, we wont see Lindor before June, or whatever the date is that makes his arbitration clock turn over to an extra year.

Anytime before that is a pipedream as we will lose a full year on the other side of his arbitration years for a few months.

I'm fine with trading Cabrera. Aviles is serviceable enough at SS if Lindor is not ready. I don't think asdrubal is that valuable of a piece of the team we need to worry about. You guys forgetting him just flailing at the ball the entire 2nd half of the year?

Danny Salazar is on the front page of Grantland.com today.

The article is their fantasy baseball preview. I haven't read it yet but I am assuming they are projecting good things out of Danny this year.

The same was reported by WTAM this morning...Masterson wanting a 3-4 year deal. It sounds from this report that the dollar figures are very reasonable for an 'Ace'.

Obviously only spring training...but it's encouraging to see them off to an 8-1 start this spring. Any time I watch highlights of spring training games, I get really jealous of the fans sitting there in shorts and t-shirts and anxious for the season to start.
