The mistake Zack made was not blocking the ball. It's clearly tough to pick that clean, but he allowed the guy to get to 3rd.

The Phillips error was also a killer. It's easy to say these plays don't matter, but people underestimate how different a game would be at 4-2 late instead of 6-2.

I'm as upset with Joey's season and approach as anyone. However, he will be fine. Same with Bruce. Those are the only 2 I'm confident will be right back at it next year. Because of money concerns, Mesoraco/Hanigan, Cozart, Frazier and Ludwick (guaranteed salary) will be starters.

They quickly blew their chances last week of catching the Cardinals. They had to win 2 out of 3 over the weekend to prevent going to Pittsburgh, so instead they win zero. They choked.
Pretty much sums it up. The Reds had a good season but choked BIG TIME precisely at the time they needed to make a run.

He's horrible and needs to be gone from this franchise.
Can I ask what elite talent? I'm not trying to be a dick but compare them to a team like Detroit who have 7 everyday guys that hit over .270 and 5 over .300, and 4 starting pitchers who have won 62 games combined. Look at the Dodgers lineup and pitching staff, look at the Cardinals, or the Braves or the Red Sox. No way can you tell me Cincy is legitimately better than those teams

All of this. I'm ok(not really though) that he didn't make the play; but by not keeping the ball in front of him, he allows Cutch to get to 3rd and then score on a lazy fly ball. Which he wouldn't have been able to get to 3rd on.

Votto has never been fine when it matters (the playoffs). The guy has been a huge disappointment in all of 3 Cincinnati's playoff appearances.

Last night he came up in 2 at-bats with chances to make a mark on the game, and both times he struck out. And he wasn't even close to threatening.

Vottos fine over 162 games, but we need our 200 million dollar 3 hole guy to not suck it up when it matters.

Well the Tigers, I concede...I mean have you seen that lineup?

But in all seriousness, Cincinnati has 2 of the top 4 RBI leaders in the NL, #1 on-base % player, and Choo who is pretty god damn good.

3rd in the NL in runs, 5th in OPS. Pitching is 1st in average, WHIP, K's, and 4th in ERA. Looks to me like they have more than enough where they should be able to win a playoff series. Apparently you don't remember last year when they should of swept the Giants, you know, the same team that swept your Tigers.

If he is back we won't be renewing our season tickets. We will still go to games, but not nearly as many as we usually go to. I can't take this first round exit bullshit anymore. At some point they need to start winning playoff series'.

I'm in this exact boat. I will still watch the Reds and probably end up going to a few games, but I am putting as close to zero investment in this team as I can because this same shit keeps happening. To be totally honest I lost interest in the Reds this year around July because you could just see the end of this year coming, and I had no interest in it. Can't believe they would be so quick to say Dusty would be back after that shit show to end the year.

Asked if there was any question about Baker returning, Jocketty said: “I don’t think so,” Jocketty said. “He’s signed for another year.”
That's GM-speak for "I have no idea what's going to happen. Give me time to figure this shit out."

Dusty has built this team to make the playoffs, and has served his purpose. His track record shows he wins, but doesnt win in the postseason.

I am usually not in the corner of firing managers, but right now I think Dusty needs to go. He has done a good job, got the reds into the postseason, but that is as good as he can do.

Oh I know they have more than enough and I'm not trolling. But at the same time they don't have dominant talent where they should easily be in the NLCS. No way would I say this team should beat the Dodgers or Cardinals in a series, they could but definitely an underdog. Just like Detroit the two previous years, in 2011 they weren't as good as Texas, last year they tried to win a WS with a career minor leaguer in Berry hitting 2nd lol. Bottom line is though I don't think anyone last night beats Pittsburgh in that stadium

They have dominant talent who chooses not to freaking dominate. The Reds have a pretty solid lineup who doesn't produce.

You're just going to give me a little bit of hope and then when they say he's 100% coming back I'll be even more pissed off. Just let me be a little pissed off that he's coming back then freaking ecstatic if they announce he's gone. :)
