The Indians did the same thing with Hargrove who couldn't bring home a World Series Championship despite all the talent. It's a tough nut when expectations aren't met. That said...no guarantee that anyone else is going to do better.
Dusty just does too many ridiculous things and while he's liked by the majority of the players....too many base running blunders, lack of hustle and just the worst hitting approaches. Mix that with his ineptness in the postseason....not what's needed. Maybe the next guy isn't either, but that is unknown, what is known is that Dusty isn't the guy to take this team all the way....or far enough along the way even.

Combine that with Walker the way he is hitting the ball now, Alvarez with his 36 HRs and 100 RBI, and with McCutcheon in the 3 hole. Last AB Simon pitched outside for 8 pitches, then cam in with a 96 mph fastball hand high with only half the ball on the plate, and he got his hands out of the way and ripped a line drive to LF.
Plus their catcher has 2 HRs tonight and their lead-off hitter has 41 stolen bases on the season!

BP has left everyone on going 0-4 and booted the DP costing a run.

The Pirates are just better.

Do you think Cueto hurt himself fielding the bunt from the first hitter of the game, which caused him to be "off", and even made him pitch from the stretch when no one was on?

Needs to be done...they have this much talent, yet lose 6-1 in their 1 playoff game.

He's horrible and needs to be gone from this franchise.

What a way to go out losing 6 in a row and proving you had no business being there in the first place

Disagree, a professional shortstop has to make that play. He didn't have to move, yea, it was hit hard, but on a perfect hop right to him.

No what? The ball was hit right at him, he literally did not have to move. It wasn't a short hop or a bad hop, it was a perfect hop right at him.

I will be so fucking pissed if Dusty isn't let go after this pathetic ending to the season. He's the fucking captain of the failboat.

In his postgame, Phillips admitted they all choked, and the TBS commentators were trying to dismiss that notion. No, guys, they choked. They quickly blew their chances last week of catching the Cardinals. They had to win 2 out of 3 over the weekend to prevent going to Pittsburgh, so instead they win zero. They choked.
