I laughed when people thought Weeden would suddenly get it with the new regime, and I was right. QB's that are going to be good show glimpses, which Weeden never has.

Don't hurt your shoulder patting yourself on the back for that prediction. Really went out on a limb there SE.

I know right. I definitely didn't go out on a limb, which makes me wonder how people that seem to be pretty knowledgeable about football thought he would be anyting different than what he was last year. The logic that him having to throw the ball further down the field in this offense would somehow make him more accurate is a ludicrous thought process.

Way to go SE, you're the man.

I believe the thought process was that pattie boys system was a fucking joke and had all the WRs running 2 yd slants, never threatening to go deep so def could stack the box and play downhill the whole game. Total miscast of Weeden in that system as, unlike McCoy, he has big arm to drive the ball down field, Gordon/Benjamin threatening to go deep thus opening up the middle of the field for Trich, Cameron, Little and Bess. Wasn't so much of a weeden accuracy issue. The system worked for Chud in 07 (See DA whose accuracy isn't as good as weeden's) Rivers in SD (under norv and Chud actually) and Cam Newton in Carolina. But you already knew that of course.

Yea these WRs suck as well. Its a good thing they let the Falcons take Julio Jones and got Phil '15 yarder' Taylor and Weeden.

PT is a good player. I'd still take that trade any day of the week. I sure as hell wouldn't have wasted those two picks on weeden and t rich though.

Weeden was a joke, but I'd rather have JJ Watt, Aldon Smith, and Colin Kapernick over Julio Jones. All players the Browns passed on. I'd be more pissed about that than not taking Julio Jones. I have no issues with Phil Taylor.

That was a great trade. What they did with it the following year is beyond comprehension, really.

I'm probably a sucker, but I'm still a believer in Trich. I don't like trading up for him, and its really hard to argue in favor of him right now but I still think he can play at a pro bowl level. When he's not on the field on 3rd downs, running behind the worst Oline in the NFL right now, and a joke of a QB in front of him (plus Maeric and Oby as his FB LOL) I can make a lot of excuses for him. Granted at some point the talent has to show, but I'm not ready to write him off yet.

Yeah, first off you don't take RBs in the top 5. Period. And you also don't draft 28/29 yr old QBs who have issues facing pass rush in college in the 1st. Just a waste all around.

On to the game, I hope to not see a repeat of this:

Skrine will probably replace Brandon Mcdonald though.

I agree with these especially about passing on Watt and Smith I'm not a big Kap fan though and especially wasn't 2 years ago. PT was a nice pick though. Taking Weeden was obviously a terrible pick. As for Richardson I don't think it was terrible definitely but wouldn't have traded up to make sure I got him.

As for this week's game Ponder is terrible I really like the Browns defense to get a couple INTs. I think they keep AP around 80 rushing yards. Hopefully Gordon being back really helps the offense no matter who the QB is. I like the Browns to win 20-16

Cleveland Browns: In 2012 as a rookie Mitchell Schwartz played every single offensive snap at right tackle and allowed just 33 pressures on the entire year. In just two games, Schwartz is already over half way to that number with 18 pressures allowed. His five sacks allowed this year has already matched last year.

Get your FUCKING shit together Schwartz.

I think you're in the same boat we are right now where it's just tough to gauge how good/bad a lot of skill position players are just because of how bad the line is. With horrible line play, the only backs I'd think would have success would be the super-quick ones who can get outside in a hurry and for QBs, probably guys with great peripheral vision and a quick release. Standard feature backs and power-arm QBs are pretty much gonna struggle.

Nothing personal but I'll call you a "sucker." I don't think he's ever going to be anything special because of a) the O-Line, b) the systems he in (doesn't seem to get used enough/correctly) c) durability and d) for as big and "bruising" he is, he runs soft. Too much dancing instead of one cut & go. Look at Marshawn Lynch...one cut and punishment. THAT is what T-Rich should be. I just don't ever see it.
