That would be nice, also being able to label group messages or "rooms"....similar to WhatsApp and old BBM.

I'm a huge fan of Messages. Easily my favorite things about the last OS update.

Hangouts has a desktop app. It integrates into Chrome and is one of Chrome's "background apps".

What makes imessage work so well is the fact that it has millions of users and most of them dont even know they're using it because it's seamless.

Speaking of innovation... As a few have mentioned, there are a few tweaks that could occur which would make life easier.

The first I'd like deals with group messages. I'd like a faster way to add people to a group text.

Granted in NYC you might find a few idiots camping out, but as a whole that's a fail argument. Also blackberry was business centric, iphone isn't.
Didn't say anything about camping out and lining up. I said "buying." And that's what is happening. Blackberry had people coming into stores on launch day and buying it just because it was the new Blackberry. The same thing happens with every iPhone launch. It's very similar.

And for the record...you don't see lines out the door for ANY phone launch any more because carriers began pre-orders for new phones. No need to line up on launch day when you can go in a week before and order the phone and have it sent to you the day before it hits store shelves.

Or better yet remove group texting all together because it's annoying as fuck.

Yes I know that you can double click the top bar to quickly scroll to the top of your screen, but it would be better if you could just click right on the person's name and select something like "Call Contact."

On my S3, all I need to do is put the phone to my face and it calls the person automatically.

GroupMe app. My friends and I use it instead of group texting. It's more like a chat room, which I like because my phone won't be ringing or vibrating every five seconds. It sends me push notifications instead of SMS. It supports gifs, pictures, and video. Plus it's free. Doesn't matter if you have iOS or Android. It works for both platforms.

And there's about a million apps out there that already do that. I want one built into the OS.

I just heard from a co-worker in NYC that there were people camped outside of the NYC Flagship Apple store on 5th Ave. two days before the announcement. After he passed them a few days in a row, he struck up a conversation.

Turns out, the people responded to an ad where they are paid to stand in line for 12 hour shifts. They get free meals, and a hotel room nearby. They have to act excited and have talking points if the media comes by to film anything. Once a line of customers forms behind them, they sort of fade away.

Apple really is amazing at creating hype.

Air has the new Haswell processors so they'll get better battery life.

Or you could buy two non-Apple laptops with similar specs

dlazz: true, I could. But then I wouldn't be as cool as some of the people in that video. Plus, now that Excel and Word programs can be purchased for the Apple products, I'm sold on it! Air or Pro, here I come!!!

Office for Mac has been out since 1989, so you're only 24 years behind.
