Just FYI, if you live in Ohio, Sprint & Clearwire have launched lte (41 band(2600 mhz) frequency). It's only a small sample but sprint is lighting up its own towers weekly all over the country with 1900 lte, 800 lte soon bc the Nextel signal was shut off over the summer and 800 for voice.

In the next 6 months, Sprint will have 3 different bands of lte and many tri-band phones with 800 smr for voice. Sprint with there new upgrade program will be pushing AT&T and Verizon for best service and prices. All the pieces of the puzzle are coming together for Sprint and it looks good.

Check out s4gru.com for more information. Mr.

Go on. I'm open to suggestions.

Like I said, I rarely have coverage issues here. Ohio is a different story though.

I don't think I can wait 6 more months. My service is absolutely atrocious in my house. I regularly miss calls and texts because there is no signal here. And while I'm driving around, signal isn't much better.

I agree that their prices are much more affordable. But the service is the absolute worst and it seems to be getting worse instead of better.

I don't see the point in changing if you have service in NY. It is cheaper....that is the main thing.

I'm just curious to hear what is out there. I'm skeptical. I highly doubt I can get an iPhone on a plan similar to mine at a better price.

In the long run, it is probably cheaper to buy an iPhone at full price through straight talk and then just pay the 40 a month for unlimited everything on your carrier of choice. But there is just soooooo much upfront money to get the iPhone. I think they are like 700

After taxes and fees, my bill would be almost the same. Also, no 5S on TMobile.

That's bc of NV (Network Vision) upgrades, towers that are partially upgraded, waiting for backhaul have hard hand offs to legacy(old equipment). Things get worse before they get better bc of that and the southern part of Columbus has a lot of 800 smr but sprint hasn't released to the masses yet, u have to run a custom prl to use it. Service will be getting much better, sooner than later.

5s is on T-Mo, they just aren't doing the preorder stuff.

T-Mobile's unlimited plan is $70/mo, but they have a 2.5GB unlimited everything else plan for $60/mo, which would likely be fine for you.

No, far from it...

Just a member at s4gru and they have insiders from sprint, actual owners of the towers, etc...

They have maps of every tower, when upgraded, when going to go live and much more. Very exciting time to be with sprint once this stuff goes live.

If you go to sprint or best buy and buy a Tri-band hot-spot, a lot of Columbus will have let with sprint/clearwire. Sprint releases it first Tri-band phones next month and more coming soon and coverage getting better every week.

Be prepared to wait if you try to download it though. Their servers are totally whacked right now.

I got an error the first time I tried to install but it finally went through. I like the update so far but I haven't used it much.

My download has been chugging away for half an hour, and the progress bar is only about 1/3 across. It keeps moving though, might as well let it continue.
