Reading up, Bama people saying he was told to look for another position after the Auburn game and lane kiffen will be the OC at Bama.

Still a good hire for Michigan.

I'm not saying this isn't a good hire for Michigan but wouldn't Bama match Michigan's offer if they really wanted to keep him?

So are UM fans "excited" about this hiring?

From what I gather, Borges has been the scapegoat for Hoke since Hoke has been at Michigan.
The hiring of Nussmeier means... "it ain't Borges."
Therefore, by default, Michigan peeps seem to be ecstatic because "it ain't Borges."
My question is... when Michigan goes Loss @ Notre Dame, Loss @ Michigan State (for the 6th time in 7 yrs), Loss @ Ohio State (for the 10th time in 11 yrs), who will be the scapegoat now since Borges isn't there any longer?
Will Brady make it thru another season?
If Brady is, in fact, let go, then isn't all this 'fapping' for Nussmeier now all a moot point?!

If these three things happen, prolly not.

That's an incredibly dumb way to look at it.

Not sure it is. Hoke got rid of the guy everyone was blaming, if it goes bad this year, can't see how Hoke isn't shown the door. Also, to me, it looks like they brought in a guy that is philosophically further away from the personnel they have than the guy they fired was.

So you think their record may not be better next year, so they should have done nothing? They shouldn't make changes based on what MIGHT happen? Sounds like good advice.

Borges wasn't good. Scapegoat? Mmmm, only time will tell. But changes needed to be made. Nussmeier has exactly the philosophy that they WANT. They will work on getting the personnel there. That was really the same with Borges and Mattison as well.

And if the defense isn't better next year, they should be looking for a DC as well. He's been a big disappointment thus far. Or maybe they should keep him because they might lose.

Hoke didn't want the new guy. AD did. So yes if they struggle, I'd say Hoke is on the very hot seat. But they should be better. played a lot of young guys.

Hoke did want the new guy. Approached AD about him. AD didn't even think Nuss would be interested.

Anyway you slice it, Hoke will be on the hot seat if they struggle. New staff members or not.

I read Hoke wanted another guy. Can't remember the name though. It was on Michigans 247 page. I'll try searching for it

@TerryFoster971: Brady Hoke wanted Stan Parrish to be Michigan's next OC. I am glad David Brandon won that battle.

Here's what was referenced

Parrish probably was considered. But one tweet from Terry Foster doesn't change the facts.

The facts? How do we know that isn't a fact?

I'll consider the AD and head coach as sources. You believe whoever you want. Fair enough?

To be fair how often to the HC/AD come out and actually say. "I wanted the x guy, but so and so wanted Y guy, so here he is"

Of course they are gonna be supportive.

I liken this to when the Browns finally hire a coach this guy will have "definitely" been our number 1 target, and we are so lucky to have hime.

That being said, I'm not in touch with the Michigan program enough to know who's right and who's wrong.

Did they answer that question? If not then you can't say it was fact.

Dave Brandon said in the press conference that Brady Hoke made the decision to fire Borges and the decision to hire Nuss. Said he was surprised because he didn't know Hoke knew Nuss.

So they didn't ask about another coach. That's all I asked. So there is no fact either way. OK

Doesn't matter who they hired in the end, next year is Bradys make or break.
