Try to keep up. He wasn't just calling Lewan low class. And I already said I have no problem with anyone calling out his dirty play.

It was so bad, people were seriously asking if she had a stroke or something.

He'll get at least another year, but he will be forced to make some staff changes. If he has another year like this in '14, I think they have to consider shopping.

You know it's bad when a team 0-5 in B1G play is favored.

It's because the B1G is the best conference in the country!

I really thought Hoke would turn this around fairly quickly. He's got the recruiting ability, but the ability to develop that talent seems to be lacking. I know Borges has been the easier scapegoat, but it seems like Hoke is like RR in the fact that he won't change the offense to fit the personnel. Borges has been a legit OC through his career, with his teams averaging something like 30ppg over his career, that ability doesn't just go away.

Actually, that's not true at all. Hoke wants to run a West Coast type offense. They've done nothing but adapt to this point.

However, the play calling doesn't adapt to their strengths/weaknesses, nor what the defense is doing. That is for damn sure.

In an exclusive email conversation from a source very close to the Michigan football program, I have learned that in the past week that at least 4, and maybe as many as 7, underclassmen football players, all of whom were high profile recruits, have taken initial exploratory steps to transfer out of the Michigan football program after the current semester is over.

It was so bad, the University actually sent out a press release today saying that she wasn't drinking before the speech. :RpS_lol:

LJ posted something about that earlier in the thread. I'm sure she wasn't drinking, and my comment was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. However, it's too bad that her speech came across the PA so poorly. There's prolly nobody more upset than her.

Fair enough. Just from an outsiders standpoint, it seems like they would be better off running a spread option type offense. That way Gardner doesn't have to try to read defenses as much, which he's clearly not very good at.

They do run some, but suck at it too.

Everybody in the stadium was asking the same question. It was pretty bad, whatever the reason.

The funny part is, the WCO might actually work with this team. They actually ran more that style to open the 2nd half and marched right down the field for a TD. Then went completely back to what wasn't working. Borges is a WCO guy, maybe Hoke isn't? Know one really knows what is going on right now.

Seems like it would be strange for Hoke to hire an OC that didn't have the same philosophies as he does.

They do attempt to run a west coast system though? IMO it's more bad coaching at this point, they are not improving at all and that is exactly what a team should be doing as the season gets going. O-Line isn't good enough to set up for vertical passing attack and lack of running game makes it an ineffective attack. Michigan just is not good at all

Agreed. But Borges is a WCO guy but running very little of it. So the conclusion some come to is that Hoke is forcing something different on him? Kind of like RR who hired a 4-3 guy and forced him to run 3-3-5.

They run very little of it, but when they do it is more successful. Like the first drive of 2nd half.

Thing is, out of the 3 main coaches, Hoke is the only one without a proven track record. Borges has been at the helm of some really good offenses, and Mattison conducted one of the best defenses in the NFL. So where do you really think the blame lies?
