And they said today to me on the phone that Sony has hinted that they will do the same for the ps4. He also said they are telling them they won't be getting any extras outside of the Pre orders and not to expect more till after the first of the year. Both of these companies are stupid. You can't not have more ready for the holiday season. Could make soooo much more money.

If anyone hears of another day for preordering either of these, please post it. I was late to the party but want to get one for ebay purposes.

Go to gamestop and ask to be put on a list for preorders. They'll then text you if another day of preorders comes available

Ramping up production on something like a game console is really difficult as are the logistics of getting them distributed across the world. I'm sure they'd have exactly as many consoles available as willing buyers if they could.

Gamestop called me yesterday and ssaid the one on base is only getting 20 copies and I'm number 31 on the list. So I'm not getting one. Amazon had some bundles this morning apparently but I was ttoo late being on hawaii time. I'm bummed.

Just weeks away now, I'm getting pretty excited.

So far my plan is going to be:

PS4 + Killzone + Battlefield 4 + online subscription

Xbox One + nothing (maybe COD Ghosts, but I'm pretty sick of COD)

Why even bother purchasing a Xbox One then?

I might hold of until the inevitable Titanfall bundle early next year...

When it comes to video game, I always have to get the newest thing right away, even though I don't have all that much time to play them anymore.

12 year old me would be proud.

No, it means you just have to off the correct 11 people and you'll move up to get that final one.

Think outside the box, man!

MS announced that Titanfall (at least the first Titanfall assuming there will be many of them) will be exclusive to Xbox One...Many thought it was a timed exclusive coming to PS4 after 6-12 months.

Lame.

Granted I am not part of the younger generation growing up with this technology, but to me, none of what is listed in that article effects the majority of gamers who do just that, play games.

mandatory game installs with sizes of around 50GB for a lot of launch games...you'll just have to manage that and delete the install files of games you are done playing....also a lot of people are going all digital this gen (not me) which would be very hard with just 500gb

Yeah, it's just something that both the ps3 and 360 have, so most are shocked that this would be dropped on the ps4....luckily I'm planning on getting an Xbox one too, but a lot of people use the media server capabilities...definitely not a majority of people, but a decent portion

That is 10 games. Why the hell would anyone have 10 games. How can you play 10 games? Guessing thete are people that do it.

I'll never have more than 3 games at a time. Ill play bf4 and nba2k when I get mine. Then ill either buy something else or trade in nba2k for something when im tired of it

Just 11 days until the PS4!

I'll be getting the system + PS+ subscription + 3 games (looks like Target is doing a buy 2 get 1 free deal that Amazon is likely to match).

I'll be going with Killzone + Battlefield...Unsure on the 3rd game, will likely go with Knack or Madden (I really only want the 2, but can't complain about a freebie).

Still undecided on the Xbox One...I may cancel my preorder and hold off until next year to see how things shake out. I have a feeling the Xbox One could be an unfinished mess over the next few months...

Have read that the performance levels of the systems are basically identical. Guess it just comes down to your preference on system. Which has the best exclusives and best launch titles?

I think gaming and Xbox live will be stable, but I have doubts about a lot of the added features (snap mode, skype, apps, the UI in general, etc.)

I'm very pro Xbox and love the 360, and I'm sure I will own an Xbox One in the next year, if not at launch if I keep my preorder.

The PS4 specs are quite a bit more powerful, but I don't think we will see a lot of evidence of that until 2-3 years out (although it is already being shown with some launch games, like COD being upscaled 1080p on Xbox One and native 1080P on PS4).

I just think Xbox One seems rushed and they are only releasing this month to compete with PS4, not because they are truly ready. They aren't showing off the UI and all of the extra features like snap mode and cable TV integration, etc. They are losing in pre-orders right now, yet they are not out there showing off demos of what the system is supposedly capable of as far as being the center of your home media set-up. You would think if they have this amazing system where you can be playing a game, then go to split-screen skype with your grandma while playing a game, then close skype and open internet explorer, they would be demoing this and showing this off left and right.

When user videos and reviews come out showing all of these things working flawlessly, I will definitely get an Xbox One.

As for exclusives, it's all personal preference. I like some exclusives on both systems, which is why I'm sure I'll end up with both. I can't wait for Killzone (PS exclusive), but I also think Titanfall is going to be huge (Xbox exclusive). PS has Naughty Dog, which makes some of my favorite games...

It will definitely be interesting to see how things are looking for both systems over the next 6 months or so...

They have had videos showcasing this. The operating system for xbox one looks much better than Playstations based on what I've seen so far.

I agree that the Xbox OS looks better than the PS4 for sure, but there haven't been any videos of it being demo'd live. Every time they have shown it off it is a mocked up demo of how it is intended to operate, but they have refused to do an actual live demo or have someone to a video tour that isn't some pre-recordered thing with the person pretending to be using the system (like at E3, or any other press conference).

There have been leaked videos of the UI from the dev kits, which are buggy looking, but probably an early build.

I need to see someone (not an MS spokesperson) with an actual Xbox One either reviewing it or demoing it (using the voice commands and snap features, etc.). If I see that in the next couple weeks, I'll be keeping my preorder for sure.

I'm way late to the party, but I saw this thread and have spent about the last hour doing research comparing the two. I've always been a playstation guy, but I might make the move to Xbox IF I decide to upgrade. Love that they are trying to make it a media center, as when I move I will be looking to ditch cable. Not to mention, one thing I loved about ps3 was the free online play. Not that that is gone, it makes my decision easier. All of my close friends are xbox guys as well, so that might give me a reason to actually play some games again. Would I be able to download a movie, put in on a usb, and then plug it into the xbox and watch?

All opinions on why I shouldn't get the xbox/should get the ps4 are appreciated.
