Since they did the large update last week I've had 0 issues with lag or rubber banding at all. Played it like crazy the last few days because it was so smooth.

I will preface that this is not a trolling post and want an honest answer:
How is a baseball video game exciting? The only fun Baseball game I've played is Super Baseball 2020 and that's because there were robots and powerups. And the robots exploded if you hit them with enough pitches.
It seems like the more realistic they made a baseball game the more boring it would be

Probably my favorite sports game. I was pretty bummed that the ps4 version was delayed until May. Can't wait though!Midstate01;1610582 wrote:Really looking forward to playing The Show next week!

I grew up playing a ton of baseball and playing a lot of baseball video games, and I agree that they are boring now, for my situation.dlazz;1611114 wrote:I will preface that this is not a trolling post and want an honest answer:

Playing side by side against my brother or friends growing up was a blast, but I never got into the single player because it was just boring to me. I don't game online with any people I know in real life, so that pretty much kills baseball games for me. I tried last year's version of The Show and I can see that it is a great baseball sim, but with nobody I know to play against I lost interest in about a week.
They are re-making RBI baseball this year, though...I may have to check it out depending on the price and how it looks when finished.

I love playing baseball games. World series baseball on Sega was my favorite. Hit so many homers in a season with Kevin Mitchell that it stopped counting them.
I do like that you can set counts in the game to speed it up this year. Say start with 1-1 to speed it up. I usually have always played the first two games of a series and simmed the last one to two. I also sometimes will only hit and simulate each half inning. Just depends how much time I have.

I don't watch all that much UFC, but I loved the Fight Night boxing games, so I'm hoping this fills that void for me.

I've been playing a lot of DayZ on the PC. I've never played an "MMO" before (if you want to even qualify it as that), but shit is fucking intense.
Basically a zombie survival game. You spawn with nothing and have to go around collecting items and avoid dying. Just had an awesome Mexican standoff with some other guy.

I used to watch a little DayZ on twitch. Looked like a lot of fun if you're playing with at least one other person. The world is ridiculously big, seems like it would take forever to learn how to get from one place to another.dlazz;1611465 wrote:I've been playing a lot of DayZ on the PC. I loved 8 and 16-bit baseball games because you could finish a game in 20-30 minutes, just like with Tecmo Super Bowl for football.McFly1955;1611273 wrote:I grew up playing a ton of baseball and playing a lot of baseball video games, and I agree that they are boring now, for my situation.

Think my favorites were Baseball Simulator 1.000 (or, more precisely, the SNES Super B S 1.000, as while the two games were essentially the same, with the SNES version, it didn't take 5 minutes for the computer to simulate games between computer-controlled teams) because you could create teams and it kept stats for the entire season.
And then, the SNES Tecmo Baseball game because it had the MLBPA license, so you controlled all real players. As a pure game, the Ken Griffey ones were probably a bit better, but this one had real names instead of Griff Jr and a whole bunch of fake names.
The big thing to watch out for with those older games, that determined for me if they were fun or not, was the control after the opponent hit the baseball. If fielding was easy or if you found yourself controlling a tiny little guy in this big field with hardly any idea where the ball was going to go. BS 1.000 was good for that because the fielders were large in comparison to the field. When you got used to the Mode 7 scrolling in Tecmo SNES, fielding was pretty intuitive there and with at least the second Griffey, I think you could set up the computer (in options) to auto-field to some degree.
Oh, I think the remake of RBI Baseball is out now. And according to GameRankings, at least on the 360, it's on pace to wind up one of the worst rated games of all time. A hair under 30%, it seems.
