Interesting.
On the first one I would do the opposite. I would run 1.5-2.0 miles out, and then interval the way back. Guess I should reverse it!

Kind of off topic but still a bit "fitness" related. Recently, well known trainer/actor/etc Greg Plitt was killed by a train in California while supposedly taking pictures of trains on the tracks with friends. Initially, rumors came out that it may have been a suicide. Recent developments have come to light that the dumbass got jacked up on energy drinks and tried to "race/outrun" the train. Another Darwin Award nominee...smdh

Not totally buying into that bashing of BL. They do put a heavy emphasis on cardio, but they also are lifting much. I think just that cardio stuff makes for 'better tv' than lifting maybe!

It is a show, for obese people, and they put them through more than what anyone could expect to do. Much has come out over the years and what they do is total extreme.
I think more harmful than what the show does is the so many myths out there about how to lose weight. One person will say this, one will say that, another will say something totally different.

Weight loss is a multi million, if not billion, dollar industry wanting overweight people to buy this book, buy that food, join this group, purchase this supplement. I started into the fasting thing last year and the backlash of some people say how bad it is because of the infamous 'starvation' mode.

In reality, for a vast majority of people, it comes down to burning more than you take in. Now, when you are getting to a certain point, or have a certain goal, you get much more technical but too many people make weight loss too confusing, too expensive and just make it too hard on themselves.

Agreed. Most of them could've done a couple of rounds of P90X or just lifted and walked on a treadmil 5x's a week and gotten similar results. May have taken longer but they may have sustained the weight loss, which many have not. Never been a fan of BL.

I liked the BL to watch the first year or two but then Jillian and Bob ruined it for me. I hear the new trainers are better but I have not watched. I do love to see what the human body can do, but for sure is not sustainable with how they do the weight loss on BL. The ones that make it tend to develop there own way or become trainers from what I have seen.

Someone who made it through a season of BL would have to adapt their workout after that show.

Maybe you don't need to kill yourself to lose weight, but developing some mental toughness is part of it.

True.

But obviously they could never stick to anything. Heck, it is a tv show. A weight loss show. What did they expect? Seing people lose 1-3 lbs in a week isnt rivoting tv!
I saw a season of it a few years ago. Maybe 1 ep a season after that. The host is hot. Saw one this season and they had a sexy new female trainer this year.......

I just had my first cup of "bulletproof" coffee this morning and I'm feeling pretty good. I guess it's not actually bulletproof because I didn't use low toxin beans with a metal filter, but I did add 1 tbsp of grass feed butter and a tbsp of MCT oil. I'll slowly work up to adding a little more as my body gets used to it.

Read this on Gizmodo. Interesting read. http://gizmodo.com/bulletproof-coffee-debunking-the-hot-buttered-hype-1681321467

"Bottom line: It's almost certainly a bad idea. Ultimately, it seems to me that Bulletproof Coffee is a scheme to get you to buy some very expensive magic beans. There are better ways to get healthy, and there are tastier was to drink coffee that don't involve coating the inside of your blender with butter every morning. Keep it balanced, folks."

That sounds horrible and proof that you can make some people believe anything is healthy.
