It's gonna be interesting to see what happens with Orrville. Going independent will either end up with a brutal catholic school laden schedule or a gravy boat John Marshall, Heritage Christian type of schedule. It will be difficult to get 10 games everyone approves of and doing so will probably increase expenses like bus fuel while reducing gate intake. Leaving the OCC also probably means no Wooster game in week 10 as well.
I know it is ego damaging, but the WCAL is the best fit enrollment wise and financially (gate, travel). The down side is now you actually have to play the WCAL schools and get beat sometimes...none of it really matters though, as the WCAL doesn't need Orrville. The stable 8 team conference has a good thing already in regards to travel times, rivalries and steady gates.
The PAC is much less stable, much more spread out than the WCAL, but still a nice fit size wise. This may be the best option when one of their members decides to jump ship.
My guess is Orrville guts it out in the OCC until a better opportunity comes along. Going indy would be more expensive and cause more headaches for more people than just sitting tight in the OCC.
