He was a nice guy. Saw him in the gym frequently and he hung out with some of the same girls we did. Always happy.

Nah I think we've always just done the current recruiting stuff in the current season's thread. There is better discussion on recruiting elsewhere. Plus it keeps all the current thread bans in play.

Yeah they have a good haul right now. Byrne, Mustihper, Nelson, and Bars and now they can concentrate on just Braden Smith and KC McDermott. I think they'd be fine with those four but would take either of the other two to close out the class.

Rumors that may or may not be true are what's going on. Kinda hard to say he is or isn't going to attend ND as this point.

Yeah he has a 5th year available and can play immediately since he graduated. Hope it works out and he can play, he wasn't able to stay healthy at ND.

Looks like Vanderdoes' request to get out of his LOI was denied and he will appeal. He is prepared to sit out this season and then go to UCLA next year, as its the only place he wants to play now. Still no explanation why but his dad says Eddie will give his reason once the appeal process is over.

I don't like them denying him the ability to get out of his LOI. While I understand it doesn't really set a good precedent if you're going to let a recruit out of that commitment, it goes against everything Kelly said when Lynch transferred. Basically, if you're going to say, "if he doesn't want to be here, then we don't want him here" for one guy...you should probably hold to that for another.

But, at the same time...the kid shouldn't have signed an LOI if he didn't intend on going. So there should be some sort of repercussion.

I can see both sides of it.

Other schools have contacted both ND and FSU, who had the same issue with Matthew Thomas wanting out of his LOI, telling them not to release EV because of the potential loop hole it would open.

yeah 2013 should be fine along the dline but if Tuitt and Nix both head to the NFL, 2014 is going to be really thin as far as someone who can play inside. They did accept a preferred walk on DT from Arkansas, Marquis Dickerson, last month that had great numbers but played in a bad conference for a bad team that didn't have many resources. Apparently he/his family/his coaches had no idea how the recruiting process worked and sent out no film, didn't attend any camps and made no contact with college staffs to try to even get offers. He'll be a rather large project, especially if he's needed to see the field in 2014.

A year of Hendrix and then it's Zaire's team.
